Nursery…

Finally we have arrived to the nursery-reveal post! I couldn’t wait to share these photos with you as we have put our heart and soul into making this room perfect for our little princess. FYI – the name tag on the door – handmade by Atelier Funky Fresh – is not the little bundle’s name but the way we are referring to her and probably will for a long time to come. I am not one for stamping the name of our baby everywhere in the room as that might influence her into being very selfish with her stuff and we do not want that. So no name revealing thus far, but we promise we will have a special name-revealing post in the near future. We need to do a lot of baby-oriented posts in the near future as she is actually coming in about 6-7 weeks from now, and lots of things need to be covered here (stroller of choice, baby monitor, baby bath sleeping snuggles and other clothing pieces we bought for her etc) as there is no telling when we will have the time to actually post stuff once she is here.

First things first, obviously, like the rest of the house, this room is decorated in yellow and grey as despite us knowing that we were having a little girl, I hate pink as a main colour theme for a room. I would’ve gone for turquoise but I thought that was too boyish and yellow seemed to be the right choice especially since I do love a colour-coordinated home. Grey was the next obvious choice as nothing looks better with yellow than grey, especially where home-decor is involved. I must confess that once we set our colour-themes there is no flexibility around it and we absolutely need to find everything in those colours – note the bedding. Well actually I’m more of a nazi than D but he likes to play along.

A bit on the actual room…The bed and the changing table along with the three-drawer chest are produced by Pinio and sold in Romania by Fleximo. The furniture line is called I’ga and it’s their newest one, hence the long waiting time to actually get it – about two months. We loved the quality of the materials, especially the fact that we could opt for grey-dotted textile elements and the fact that the bed can be used quite a while form now since it is 140 cm long and has three stages of transformation. Yes, it is a bit on the pricier side, but the fact that we can add different pieces of furniture as the little one grows and therefore we will not need to change the entire bedroom is something that made us splurge. Obviously I needed a bedding that perfectly matched the furniture and therefore we had to custom make it at MC Ana Concept. The quality of the cotton is fantastic and you get everything you need – two bed bumpers, a bed sheet, infant-pillow, comforter, nursery pillow, changing mattress and a very useful bed-pocket for about 100E. If you are like me and need to have everything colour co-ordinated and high-quality cotton this is the best I could find.

For the nursery chair, we chose the one from Tutti Bambini which you can find at bebebrands.ro. I honestly wanted a chair like this one ever since I was a teenager but since this is a classic nursery chair it is only now that I found the logic in actually buying one. Yes, it bugs me that this one doesn’t have a grey cover, but to be honest, the moment I sit in it everything just fades away. The reality is that I edit all the blog photos sitting in this chair and I just love, love, love it and was worth every cent (it was about 200 E). Naturally our little sweetheart (dog) needed a crib of her own in the nursery as she usually follows me around everywhere and we really wanted her to be comfortable so we just had to find the perfect grey one for her. Now, before yo start objecting on her coming into contact with a newborn, let me tell you that she is well bathed and vaccinated and all her blood-work is to date, not to mention that animal-viruses do not pass on to humans. The most important aspect is that I really want our little girls to get along and love each other.

3-D Butterflies and Changing Mat both from vivre.ro

We bought the toy-box, basket, laundry-basket and wall pocket from bonami.ro as we just could not resist. They are produced by 3sprouts and you can find lots of colour combos online. They are exceptional quality and we think that our bundle of joy will use them for a long time. If I recall correctly we got them all for about 120 E because bonami.ro has lots of discounts every single day. Or changing mat is from NafNaf and we got it for about 15 E on vivre.ro. Also from vivre.ro we bought the lovely butterflies that completely changed the way the entire room looks as well as the carpet which is so fluffy that we literally just want to sit on it all day long. The moonlight and melody projections mobile is from Skip Hop and we just loved the fact the it works well with the animal theme as well as the fact that it is remote controlled. All the blankets and the cloths are from Jollein but we will shortly stack up on other brands as well as we heard that we will need loads of cloths if we do not want to do laundry every single day. As a diper garbage bin, the best option I could find in Romania is the Angelcare Captiva Deluxe which I honestly hope is efficient but I will keep you updated on that.

We are extremely proud of our nursery and we actually do spend quite a lot of time there and I think that by the time the bundle of joy will enter our lives we will be sick and tired of this room, but love it none-the-less. As you can see, the little one has already started to receive toys and I have a feeling that soon the whole room will be filled with lovely plush toys. But let’s be clear, the huge penguin is mine and D won it for me at a fair in Dubai almost two years ago. Scratee is also mine and D bought it for me for St. Nicholas exactly 6 years ago. If the little one will not take good care of those toys, I will have to take them away from her as I really love them.

Inspiration Board…

Just to give you a quick Sunday update on what is going on in our house… I have put together an inspiration board to help you get a quick sneak peak on the end result. We decided to go with a mix of grey and yellow just to spice thing up a bit design wise… Most of the stuff we bought is from Mobexpert, Vivre, Fleximo and Ikea. Hope we will finish soon and share with you our newly decorated home (or at least pieces of it).

Lazy days…

Baby bump happening yet again here… Do not be fooled by the title as these past two days have been hectic hence the lack of posting, but fear not, we have been shooting every day. The reason we were so busy these past days is because we visited the baby expo twice as apparently choosing stuff for the baby isn’t as simple as we thought. Right now we are struggling to choose a stroller and there are hundreds of options out there. The big thing about out future stroller is that it has to be as comfortable as possible for me to use it, as light as possible, it must be perfectly tailored for the baby’s needs AND it has to fit into my MINI. I will not change my beloved car for a stroller!

Therefore, between getting ready for the constructors to invade us, visiting baby expo twice and me trying to decide on furniture and fittings, we did manage to squeeze in a few photoshoots, but editing and text takes more than the said photoshoot and I was simply too tired when we finally got home these past two days. Saturday is here and I woke up committed to editing and posting at least one photoshoot despite the fact that today will be a full day. It seems to be harder and harder to hide the growing baby bump and to be honest, I did not believe at first when people told me that at around week 19 to 20 it will just pop out and there will only be one direction of growing from that point on: larger and larger.

On me:

Dress – Pull&Bear (alternative from H&M); Shoes – Melissa; Bag – Furla; Bling – Pandora and Tomorrowland; Sunglasses – Dior; Watch – Tissot

Despite the fact that this is a more autumnish dress, I really wanted to take pics in it and was lucky enough to have a slightly chillier day on Thursday. I bought the said dress from Pull and Bear last summer while in Milan and I confess that I am afraid that in a month it will not fit me anymore, so here it is in all its splendour. Naturally, it was in last summer’s collection and the only similar alternative I could find online is from H&M.I just the love grey and yellow together. I think they are the perfect couple for any season therefore I always make sure to have a few garments of each colour just waiting to be worn. I paired the grey dress with my Melissa Patchouli grey wedges which conveniently have a yellow stripe at the back. To make matters even more obvious, I wore my yellow Furla tote that you can’t currently find online right now. the alternative I’ve linked isn’t a very good one as it has a bit of brown in it that I honestly am not a fan of.

On D:

Shorts – H&M; T-shirt – Review; Shoes – H&M; Bling – Constantin Nautics (bracelet 1 and bracelet 2); Sunglasses – Oakley; Watch – Tissot

D also has lots of grey things lying around in his closet and luckily for me a few yellow ones as well. This time he chose his zipper t-shirt from Review that matches the grey in my dress perfectly. To make me happier than ever he decided on his yellow shorts from H&M – yes, the H&M shorts are back into action – and the striped espadrilles also from H&M. I have to say that I was a bit surprised that he didn’t opt for a pair of grey shoes as we all know by now that he has quite a few.

When it comes to accessories, he payed way more attention than I did to the subject and chose two bracelets from Constantin Nautics, while I wore my usual Pandora and Tomorrowland rings. We both opted for our Tissot T-Race watches and we both wore sunglasses, I, my beloved Dior So Real and D wore his long-lost (in my car) Oakley Holbrook pair.

As the weeks keep passing we realise that having a kid is not only about literally giving birth to it, but actually it is way more complicated than that! We have to re-do our house, buy furniture, decide an various things, make sure we take photos of this entire period, have a lot of medical visits, decide on the birth plan, make sure I do not forget that I am still a woman (cosmetic procedures and stuff)…and so on… So this might be a time when we are not as active online as we usually are, or at least for the time being, while the constructors are in the house, but we will try and post as often as possible.

Favourite so far…

I think I have found my favourite dress/ caftan in the whole world. First of all, with all this getting fat around all the places that I’ve been busting my ass to avoid, I feel like there’s not much that works well with my newly acquired curves. This caftan is different though, it just hides everything that needs hiding and only shows the best you’ve got. Although I’ve always wanted a caftan, for some reason I never got around to actually buying one until this summer in Milan. But I will not stop at this one, NO!

IMG_4117

I will make it my goal to find as many beautiful caftans as possible this summer. Well, especially this summer, as I really need them to make me look my best given the new fattening circumstances…As for the colour theme of this photoshoot, the full blue look occurred by chance and has nothing to do with what our baby will be. I just needed to get that out of the way in order ton proceed to the actual fashion post at hand.

On me:

Dress – Luisa Spagnoli; Sandals – Love Moschino (alternative); Bag – Mihaela Glavan; Bling – Swarovski, Tomorrowland and Pandora; Sunglasses – Dior; Watch – Tissot

Have I ever told you how much I love the blue, turquoise and yellow combo? Well, let me just insist on the fact that in my opinion there is no other combo that screams long summer days more than this one. Like, seriously, there’s nothing better! And, not to brag, but this caftan has all these amazing summer colours combined to perfection, AND (drumroll), D was the one that actually found it at Luisa Spagnoli while we were in Milan. I have to admit that I was very surprised of his find because this is one of my mother favourite shops and we were actually in it trying to find something for her. Obviously, this does not mean that I do not have more stuff from Luisa Spagnoli, it just means that I am surprised that D found the perfect caftan for me there in less than 2 mins.

On D:

Shorts – H&M; T-shirt – Polo Ralph Lauren; Shoes – Polo Ralph Lauren; Bling – Constantin Nautics; Sunglasses – Ray-Ban; Watch – Tissot

I was totally inspired and decided to wear it on yet another hot, hot, day in Bucharest and I paired it with my yellow Love Moschino bow sandals that I’ve had for ages and that I couldn’t find anywhere online. The reason I chose yellow sandals is the fact that this outfit needed just a bit more yellow in it to prove my colour point. I also chose my Mihaela Glavan gold clutch bag and the huge turquoise Swarovski cocktail ring alongside my Tomorrowland and Pandora rings. I kept my hair neat with a simple low pony as I always do whenever a big print is involved. Obviously, my Dior sunglasses couldn’t miss this sunny day.

D also opted for a turquoise and blue combo, but he skipped the yellow, well at least he tried, but he still had a hint of sunny coloured yellow on his Polo Ralph Lauren sneakers. His polo of choice for the day is also from Polo Ralph Lauren and his shorts are, quite obviously H&M. Maybe I should start making him shop at different stores for a change. He couldn’t be bothered with much accessorising so he only wore a Constantin Nautics bracelet and his aviator Ray-Bans. We both kept kept in line with our Tissot obsession and wore our T-race watches.

IMG_4120

This, is so far, my favourite pregnancy look and I am going to try and find some more similar clothes for this summer and maybe stretch it until early autumn. I will keep you photo updated on my quest for the perfect caftans!

Speedy Lemonade!

This is going to be one of those ‘barely-any-text’ posts, as today is mad, mad, mad! You’re going to find out soon enough why, if you haven’t already from our Instagram accounts and our Facebook page. Bottom line is that there’s no better way to cool down than to wear fresh colours like yellow and blue.

IMG_3734

The dress I’m wearing is yet another dress designed by the one and only Anca Maxim and, as with any of her designs, this one can take numerous shapes. It has an elastic band underneath that allows you to give it this intricate form. That can be adjusted in any way you (I) wish. I paired it with these lovely yellow Sophia Webster sandals that I got a few years ago and my gold Mihaela Glavan clutch bag. Accessory wise I opted for a Swarovski ring and bracelet to compliment my Tomorrowland and Pandora rings.

D also kept it in the same colour palette, choosing to pair his yellow H&M shorts (yes, another pair!) with his dark blue Lacoste t-shirt. Yup, we discovered he has two identical Lacoste t-shirts in his closet. That never happened to me, so the balance for the most thoughtful spender leans into my direction. He wore his Polo Ralph Lauren sneaks that perfectly match both the shorts and the t-shirt and only chose his Fossil bracelet as an accessory. We both wore our Tissot PR100 watches just to keep things to a minimum.

All in all, we are preparing a bunch of posts from abroad with impressions, places to eat and fashion, so please excuse today’s short post!

Forest Sprites…

I love everything frilly and airy this summer. Part of the reason being the fact that summer suddenly struck Romania like a thunderbolt. After April and May which were filled with 18 degrees maximum temps, yesterday, my Mini showed 40 degrees and today, as I am writing this, the atmosphere is unbreathable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the amazing person that invented the AC!!!This is probably the reason why the area we are living in is going to be especially crowded today. Living near the forest, on the outskirts of Bucharest has its advantages, but then summer weekends come and it all goes to hell! It seems like everyone just moves in this area and the small 4 degrees advantage we had over the centre of the city just goes to waste, and we all suffer the same.

IMG_3109

Back on topic. We are not really forest-people, meaning that I would much rather spend my day in a nice SPA than doing long walks in the wood, but the other day, I just couldn’t handle the heat anymore and told D that I needed to go to a shadowy place to cool off. Naturally, the moment we arrived at this forest road, we suddenly remembered why neither of us likes these types of activities: insects! I mean, you probably realised by now that I love shoes – bear with me, I have a point. You know, if you are anything like me, the strong attraction you feel towards a pair of Loubs, with their high, high pointy heel and their beautifully shaped toe, it’s that kind of attraction that is simply unbearable and it’s best for my bank account to not look either online or in the stores too often. Well, that exact type of attraction is, I suppose, what mosquitos feel when they see me! Or D, for that matter, as he is just as loved by mosquitos as shoes are loved by me!

On me:

Dress – Dana Budeanu; Shoes – Barcelona; Bag – Love Moschino; Bling – Pandora, Tomorrowland, Constantin Nautics and Swarovski; Watch – Daniel Wellington

That being said, we still ventured in the forest the other day, and yes, we had a good time snapping these pictures here! True, we left nature with a few bug bites, but overall we didn’t die! Yet! I’ll keep you posted on that situation! The point I wanted to make was MUSTARD! I mean, MUSTARD coloured anything! I just love this shade of yellow, way better that any other type of sunny yellow. For some weird reason, I think this shade is way more versatile than any other yellowish variety. I especially love it combined with beige or brown, or even grey. Basically, this shade works with any neutral colour in the universe!

Obviously, last year when I saw Dana Budeanu‘s collection and eyed this specific dress, I just couldn’t help myself! It was somewhat the same feeling I get with shoes (SOMEWHAT!). Naturally, I couldn’t help myself and filled the cart with a few other pieces as well which you are going to see throughout this summer. You can still find some alternative pieces in the current collection, and by the looks of it, most of the stuff is in this beautiful shade as well (watch out Mastercard!). The cut of this dress is well in trend this year as well, with the loose feel, the bare shoulders and the all around frill. Mostly this dress is perfect for the seaside, but whenever I want to go out into nature and feel like a sprite, I usually go for this kind of cut.

On D:

Shorts – H&M; T-shirt – Lacoste; Shoes – VAS; Bling – Fossil and Constantin Nautics (bracelet1 and bracelet2); Watch – Daniel Wellington

I coupled the dress with my catalan sandals that I got from my first visit to Barcelona, over 10 years ago. These sandals are usually my go to during the summer, especially when I have a lot of walking to do because they are extremely comfortable once you make peace with them. Unlike any other flat shoes, these are killers in the beginning, until the leather matches the shape of your foot. I am so glad I had enough patience with them ( I usually don’t do that) as for the past 8 or 9 summers (yes, it took them an entire summer to understand that I am not the one to give up on them!) they have been with me everywhere. The fact that they kept their like-new appearance is amazing and I do kinda regret not buying another pair the last time we were in Barcelona. I also wore my Love Moschino beige bag that you can’t find online currently, but there are loads of other options. Accessory wise I kept it to a minimum with my Swarovski ring set and my Constantin Nautics bracelet. As for the hair, a real sprite can’t be a sprite with loose hair so I went for the tube up-do (as I call it).

D also played along and chose to pair his mustard Lacoste polo with beige H&M shorts. Yes, that is yet another pair of the same shorts you’ve been seeing recently on this blog. I made a promise to myself to actually go and count how many colours he has them in. Not that I am complaining, because my man is very trendy and he can match my style everyday. In keeping with the matching bit, he, like me wore Spanish shoes. True, his are newer and not from Barcelona, but Madrid counts and these leather flip-flops are beige just like mine. Bling wise, he, yet again, paid more attention to details and wore two Constantin Nautics bracelets and his Fossil bracelet. We changed the straps to our Daniel Wellington watches and pwoffff! they perfectly match both of our outfits!

IMG_3114

All in all, we did enjoy the fact that there were 3 degrees less in the forest, but the scratching championship that occurred after our nature visit made us totally rethink our options! I mean, we do have air conditioning and we really don’t need any new scars on our legs. Basically, the conclusion was that we are not nature-oriented people and that is ok, nature is definitely for others, we respect nature, but we just shouldn’t spend too much time in it!

we found an evenly matched bridge!

This weekend we decided to run away…to the seaside, since we both had that on our minds since Thursday! Most of what I’m wearing is new, so this time, when you click on a link you’ll find those exact pieces… I really love this yellow-dark blue combo and hope with all my heart that the Fashion-fairy considers this colour scheme a winner for this summer!

I will stop the rambling right now, cos this isn’t supposed to be a text-posting, and just let you enjoy our photos taken by D.
