#Lucky

Note: These photos are two weeks old…. Hope to post newer ones soon!

Besides the obvious reason why I’m feeling lucky these days, the particular subject of this post is why I’m feeling lucky fashion-wise this past year… throughout my pregnancy, loose dresses and over the knee boots were the norm in fashion and right now there is a new trend arising: the mom fit jeans! I can’t emphasize how much I love this cut right now! They are way more comfortable than super skinny jeans – which were my basic – and they are very forgiving with my post-pregnancy body shape! I totally love them and I think I already have 4 pairs in my closet. I seriously wear them all the time. Now these pics were taken two weeks ago – yeah, it takes me this much time to actually edit them and put together a post – so, right now I can say that they fit a whole lot better since my tummy has gotten smaller, my hips are starting to get back to their original shape (lots of walking and baby-handling, but no real workouts yet). I see the light shape-wise!

Since I am writing these post while actively watching baby-Leia, not much text will be found here as she is quite a handful, more active than most babies, but she still sleeps well throughout the night, from around 23:00 until 9:00 most days so we are quite happy with that as we get a lot done during the early mornings. Other than that, she is quite a happy kiddo, with episodes of colics from 19:00 until 21:00, but they have gotten a lot better these past few weeks, which actually means that we can enjoy our evenings more and more… True, she still has her wild moments from time to time, but nothing too notable or too often for us to not be able to happily handle. Right now, despite the sleep deprivation, we can’t imagine how we ever felt complete without her in our lives.
Our dog also fully-feels the effects of a small baby in the house as she seems very tired and snores all the time when she actually gets to sleep, but when baby-Leia is awake, she is always in the room with her and always watches her every move. I think that our girls will be best friends as soon as baby-Leia starts walking!

Thus far I can’t say that I feel the effects of the baby-blues, nor do I feel or ever felt depressed in the past two months. I did have two or three days when I felt a bit anxious, but that passes quickly as soon as I lay my eyes on Leia’s face. As time passes, it appears that she resembles D more and more, but she definitely took my blue eyes. Naturally, we take pics of her almost every day and soon we will post them – like I said, time is a luxury we do not have right now.

Back to the fashion bit… obviously I love the Mom Fit jeans and I hope it stays fashionable until I am fully back in shape and beyond because these jeans are so, so comfortable! I found this particular pair at ZARA (and three other pairs as well) and for someone that loved Replay and Diesel jeans, I have to say that lately ZARA seriously upped their game in the denim department. I ventured in buying quite a few pairs mainly because my pre-pregnancy size fits and I just know that I will wear them for a long time to come. Since they are high-waisted jeans, I found the courage to actually wear a cropped sweater and proudly show you my (still) expanded belly. This lovely sweater is from Mango from last year’s winter collection, but there are quite a few options online right now. I went full-mom and wore my Vans white sneakers to complete the comfy outfit. The lovely bag I am wearing all the time right now was a gift from D for my birthday, and you can find it at Furla. I just love how versatile it is thanks to the brown-black-white combo that just goes with everything. The sunnies are my beloved Dior and the big ring you’ve been seeing lately on my finger is a push-present from my parents. My mom got one from my grandmother when she gave birth to me (or so she says) that has rubies and the one my parents gave me has sapphires and diamonds. I will keep this tradition alive and when Leia decides to give us our first granchild we’ll probably choose emeralds. The lovely bangle and ring set that I am also wearing is from Tous (just love them!) and I can’t seem to be able to part with my Apple Watch these days.

D also decided to go for casual jeans and chose a pair of ZARA ripped jeans (told you they upped their denim game a lot lately) and his leather Superdry jacket. As you will see soon (don’t really know how soon) this was probably the last time he got to wear long sleeved anything as he almost finished his full-arm tattoo sleeve and I can’t wait to show you just how amazing it looks. He wore my favorite Converse x John Vavatos sneakers and even though you can’t see it, he also opted for his Apple Watch and the Tous bracelet I gave him a while ago.

As you can see, we are surviving this new-baby period and, to be completely honest, despite it being very hard, we simply love taking care of our little bundle of joy. She really fills our hearts with happiness every single minute.

Rehearsing…

Despite me feeling wonderful dressed in this lovely skirt, we did not really manage to take as many photos as we usually do because our camera ran out of battery. So here you have all the pics we managed to snap before the camera shut down. No picking among them, just all of them! We decided to go to the park as we felt like this is the perfect time to start rehearsing out park-play skills, especially since the weather is still lovely – hope it stays like this for as long as possible as the temps are perfect for my pregnant-hot-all-the-time-self!

I am keeping my promise about layering and wearing belly tight clothes,as well as avoiding maternity clothes thus far. I got this high slit skirt from Mango Premium (online purchase) last year and haven’t worn it once because despite it being a size 34, it still was a bit too large for me especially waist-wise, but I did not return it as I figured that i will tailor it at some point, but really didn’t get to actually doing so. You can imagine my delightfulness when I tried it on a few days ago and discovered that I fit me perfectly. I just had to wear it as I have no idea for how long it will fit me. I do hope, however, that I will be able to wear it for another few more weeks, when the weather will really become chillier, as I really feel that velvet is the perfect fabric for autumn and apparently it is getting the deserved rave this autumn! Also, another thing that I am loving about this skirt is the fact that it is belly friendly without it meaning to be, so this means that I can still wear a few pieces that have a high waistline. I was under the impression that I was doomed to wear dresses until January (not that I am complaining much about that).

Skirt – Mango; Top – Pull and Bear; Vest – ZARA; Shoes – Vans; Bag – Michael Kors; Bling – Swarovski (bracelet and ring), Pandora and Tomorrowland; Sunglasses – Dior; Watch – Longines

I paired the lovely velvet skirt with a crop top from Pull and Bear that I used to wear at the gym when my abs were show-worthy and I ended up loving the high-waist-crop-top combo more than expected. To keep things on a casual note (we were going to the movies after the photoshoot) I chose to wear my Vans. To keep my growing Alabama-ass hidden away I layered the entire outfit with this lovely white vest from ZARA and I finished it with my white Michael Kors bag.

On D:

T-shirt – Tomorrowland; Jeans – Review; Shoes – Converse x John Varvatos; Bling – Fossil; Sunglasses – Ray-Ban; Watch – Longines

Because I was wearing a black and white combo, D didn’t feel like matching me all the way and chose a full grey outfit. I didn’t feel like complaining much about that as I do love all the pieces that he wore and felt happy that he chose them. In short, he wore his amazingly fitting Review jeans and paired them with his Tomorrowland t-shirt. To keep everything homogenous, he decided to wear his grey Converse x John Varvatos sneakers, that contain both the shades of grey form his t-shit as well as jeans. Looking at these pics of him, I realise that I should compel him to buy a few more of those Review jeans as I feel this brand tailors them to his body.

Since it was such a sunny day, we both wore sunglasses, I, my Dior SoReal, while D wore his already popular by now, Ray-Bans. I decided to play a bit with my accessories, especially now that it is not as hot as a few weeks ago, so I wore a Swarovski white leather bracelet and black cluster ring besides my usual two rings from Tomorrowland and Pandora. D only wore his Fossil bracelet this time, and we both wore our Longines watches even though our Tissot watches would’ve matched our outfits a bit better (habit, I suppose…).

All in all, we have learned our lesson and we will start checking on the battery every time we go out to take photos as it really was a bummer that we only got to take as many shots as we did. I really wanted some more shots of this outfit and of this moment because our daily photoshoots are over at least until our apartment is fully remodelled!

Tastemakers Party!!!

Saturday. 1000 degrees. Literally the hottest day so far this year. We had invites to an outside party that seemed to be pretty trendy and since there was not much to do this long weekend we decided to go and have fun. The weather however was a bitch and never ever had I wanted someone to have invented outside air conditioning than I did on Saturday. The requested attire was festival chic and yes, both of us could’ve chosen better outfits for this event but the sad part was that neither of us could stand anything touching our skin.

IMG_3270

A bit about the party. On the invitation it said that the whole thing was scheduled to start at 5 p.m. so we decided to be fashionably late and we got there at 5:35 p.m. To our surprise, we were the first ones there and nothing was really set up. Well, except for the main decor pieces. That, to be honest was actually good as we got to take pics of the whole thing without being bothered by unwanted people in our photos. The downside to all that was that there was nothing to eat yet, not even the much necessary ice-cream and we arrived there with an empty stomach. All in all, for the time we stayed, we did have a good time and it did end up being a good party.

IMG_3292

Back to the festival not-so-chic attire. As stated earlier, it was hot as hell out and we both decided to wear loose clothes and literally as few as possible. I went for a loose blouse from ZARA, paired with a denim skirt, also from ZARA and my trusted, comfortable VANS shoes. The reason I went for this white-blue outfit was because I seriously needed my legs to be out in the open, but I also wanted to be as comfortable as ever and nothing says chilly better than blue and white. Normally I don’t pair skirts with sneakers, but I am going to start doing that more often this summer if the temps stay as high as they were on Saturday. Shades were an absolute necessity, so I chose my Ray-Ban Wayfarers as I though that at least the sunglasses should match the requested attire. I carried all my stuff in my Michael Kors white bag and the reason I didn’t choose a smaller crossbody bag is because one of us needed to carry the camera and apparently I picked the smaller straw. Accessory wise I kept it to a minimum and only added my Swarovski ring to the usual rings that I wear.

D also suffered because of the heat and he too tried to choose his most comfortable and loose clothes. He picked a linen shirt from H&M that he has had for five years now and paired it with Pull and Bear denim shorts. Yes, I too was astounded that his closet contains shorts that are not from H&M! In order to feel as good under the circumstances, he chose his VAS leather flip-flops that he changed when he realised the party was on the grass and mosquitos tend to love grass. Accessory wise he too kept it to a minimum and only wore his Fossil bracelet for the event. As you can spot from the photos, we both wore our Longines watches.

All in all, if the weather was a bit less bitchy and if the organisers kept their word about starting the party at 5 p.m. I’d say our trendy Saturday would’ve been perfect despite the heatwave that seems to not want to leave our area for the time being.

Blue skies…

Here’s yet another bundle of pics from Madrid. I think this post here contains the largest number of photos we’ve ever posted, simply because choosing pics from this day was extremely hard.

IMG_1477

I’d like to point out the fact that I’ve really tried to do a no-jeans vacation for once, but I just could’t resist this pair I’ve found in Madrid from Pepe Jeans London. I mean, the colour is just perfect for those long summer days and short summer nights, and even though I have about 20 pairs of skinnies, I did not have this exact wash, so D had to comply and agree that I should have them.

IMG_1473

On me:

Blouse – ZARA; Jeans – Pepe Jeans London; Sweater – Terranova; Shoes – VANS; Bag – Michael Kors; Sunglasses – Ray-Ban; Bling – Swarovski, Pandora and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Daniel Wellington

Usually whenever I do some vacation shopping, I always wait until I get home to actually wear the stuff I buy, but this time, I just had to wear them the second day after I bought them.

IMG_1478

IMG_1479

These photos were taken on our third (photo documented) day in Madrid, and the weather was plain and simple perfect. As stated in an earlier post, we’re not exactly evenly matched colour-wise, but we both chose something light blue to wear.

On D:

Shirt – Massimo Dutti; Jeans – Scotch & Soda; Vest – Bershka; Shoes – Nike; Bag – from Barcelona; Bling – Fossil and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Daniel Wellington

I decided on a white blouse from ZARA, which you can’t really see in any of the pics (as i intended) because I wore my summer white sweater from Terranova (as for the blouse, I couldn’t find the exact same item online, so I’ve linked some alternatives), that I got ages ago, over it. Since it was Sunday, and I was on my third step of my CHANEL routine (Le Weekend) I couldn’t wear any make-up, hence the less bronzy look, and decided on wearing just a bit of mascara. I’ve chosen my trusted VANS because a) they’re white and b) we had a lot of exploring to do by foot.

IMG_1486

IMG_1485

As per usual, I’m wearing my Michael Kors Hamilton Traveller bag. I think I’ve worn this bag a thousand times and I think I’ll wear it to death because it’s the perfect size to fit all sorts of necessities and small enough to not annoy me when I need both of my hands.

IMG_1499

D chose his Massimo Dutti shirt which matched the shade of my jeans, and, as opposed to me, he chose a darker look. One could say that aside for the blue items, we were like a chess board. He went for his darker Scotch & Soda (one of his favourite brands) jeans and his way-too-poufy (for this weather) vest from Bershka, that he mostly carried around in his bag.

IMG_1505

IMG_1510

He, like me, chose his comfortable black Nikes and the one and only bag that he packed that he bought a few years ago from Barcelona from one of the many street fairs happening there all year round.

Sunday was the day we visited the Templo de Debod and Parque del Oeste. You can find loads more info on the locations of our photoshoot in yesterday’s post. I hope you can see from the pics the amount of fun we had on Easter Sunday.

Right on track!

As you know by now, Sunday post is about the two of us with barely any text…

These photos were taken yesterday while we were out running our usual Saturday errands (grocery shopping, parents visit, etc) and we stumbled upon these train tracks…

I did post a few face photos, even though we don’t usually do that, because I decided to put in the effort of wearing a bit of eye make-up.

As you can see we had a lot of fun, as per usual!
