Sunny Afternoon

Sunny Afternoon is a very good musical we saw the last time we were in London and I must admit this has absolutely nothing to do with today’s post except for the fact that it was sunny outside and we took these pics in the afternoon. Also, I confess…I miss London! A lot! I do not know if I miss London specifically or I just miss travelling and discovering new places and great hotels  – we have some catching-up to do on that department and I think our first trip will probably be at Untold Festival in August, if everything goes according to plan (breastfeeding and everything baby related).

I just somehow love the way this autumn and now the beginning of winter looked so far. We were really lucky to have sunny and stable weather for the most part but I have to admit it was cold so far. We are currently in our third (I think) week of close to 0 degrees C temps, but as long as it does not rain I do not really care that much. I have to point out the fact that I am anxiously waiting for snow, but, to be honest, snow in Bucharest is probably the worst nightmare for everyone and just to be on the safe side, I hope that we will have some snow after I give birth as I am terrified of the thought that the roads will be closed right at the exact moment I will have to deliver. So keeping my fingers crossed on that despite knowing that we will probably not get the chance to take pics if it snows after out little princess joins us.

On me:

Dress – ZARA; Boots – UGG; Bag – Michael Kors; Hat – Mango; sunglasses – WoodFellas; Bling – Swarovski and Tous; Watch – Apple

Yes, this is a fashion post and not a pregnancy-feeling/weather forecast post so let’s move along to the actual fashion bit about it. I am back to chunky sweaters, and the one I am wearing here is the sister of the one in this post here but in white. Obviously, it is from ZARA as they seem to be my favourites this autumn/winter and I just love the way it feels (no itchiness!). I honestly feel that it will look a lot better with my pre-pregnancy figure but I will just have to hold on to it until next year and shoot it again. Since it was cold af outside (like 2 degrees C) and we were on our way to the shopping centre I needed something both cozy and comfortable and therefore I opted for my UGG Maylin boots. I just love them despite being two years old and almost impossible to find online. I feel that the chunky knit works wonderfully with the furry detail especially since the colours match perfectly.

On D:

T-shirt – Scotch and Soda; Sweater – O’Neill; Jeans – Diesel; Boots – ZARA; Bling – Fossil; Watch – Apple

This time I did not go for an all-white winter look as I feel that works best with a snowy scenery, but I have an all-white outfit on stand-by. I decided to add brown accents instead, through my tights and bag. This Michael Kors bag is one of those perfectly crafted bags for people that carry lots of shit with them daily as it is big enough but not too big and it is wonderfully compartmentalised. All I really needed was a hat because my hair looked horrendous on that specific day – I swear IT feels whenever we want to take some pictures and decided to just look horrible, so a Mango hat it was! Not to forget my lovely wood sunglasses from WoodFellas that kept me from getting some wrinkles that day!

D also opted for a brownish outfit but he spiced it up a bit more with mustard shades and worn-out jeans (not destructed) and ended up looking amazing. He chose his O’Neill sweater that he got last year – so no chance of finding it online but I did link an alternative – to keep him warm and a mustard Scotch and Soda t-shirt underneath it. He perfectly matched his brown ZARA booties and a pair of classic Diesel slim jeans in a worn blue shade. I always thought these jeans work wonderfully with brown boots! Accessories-wise, we matched out watches (Apple) and he wore his brown Fossil bracelet while I wore just my Crystaldust Swarovski bracelet and my Tous ring.

img_6815

I just love the light in these pics and they way they turned out. Honestly little to none editing was involved as we were blesses with a perfectly clear sky that day and great light. We did shoot in this exact same spot a couple of times before but these pics turned out the best thus far and I am really hoping that we will catch that exact moment when this place will be all white and filled with snow as a winter forest photoshoot is on my bucket list.

Grey Matter!

As you know, we rarely ever find ourselves in the centre of Bucharest, but this weekend I really needed to buy a few pairs of maternity jeans and the only H&M that has the maternity line is in the city centre. Yes, I know, online shopping is a must in this situation, but to be honest, these past two weeks I have been feeling better and more energetic than ever during this pregnancy so I thought a shopping day with D would be perfect. And it was! Once again I received the confirmation that I have not yet changed sizes in pants, the only difference being the fact that I need the maternity belt as I can’t stand anything pressing on my belly and all of a sudden the shopping spirit came back to me.

img_6083

It’s amazing what sizes can do to ones’ morale. Especially when that someone is almost in the third trimester of pregnancy. Do not get me wrong, I have gained a healthy amount of weight thus far, but apparently it is mostly on my belly and on my butt, which, in my opinion is ok – I will do a post on what I am eating during this pregnancy, nutritional info and all, but I have to say that the main difference is I’ve added an extra day of cheating in my diet simply because I will have lots of time to be a diet-natzi after the little princess arrives.

img_6050

img_6055

On me:

Dress – Amisu (impossible to find online but you can shop it in all NewYorker stores); Shoes – Carvela; Bag – DKNY; Jacket – Pull and Bear (only found an alternative); Bling – Swarovski (bracelet and ring); Sunglasses – Dior; Watch – Tissot

Back to this weekend’s photoshoot…we were lucky enough to have a few wonderful day last week and we took full advantage of them. The thing about pregnant women is that they hardly feel any cold, hence I did not feel the need to wear tights at 15 degrees C and actually felt quite hot at some point (weird, right? – more details on that in the upcoming ‘pregnancy feelings’ post). For the first time I did not feel the need to cover up my expanding booty with a long cardigan or jacket and chose a short faux leather jacket instead. We both opted for a grey theme as that is one neutral colour that is both forgiving and appropriate for the cold season.

img_6071

img_6075

On D:

T-shirt – Tommy Hilfiger; Jeans – Scotch and Soda; Vest – Bershka (alternative here); Shoes – Converse; Bling – Fossil; Sunglasses – Ray-Ban; Watch – Tissot

The dress… this dress was a very big surprise to me as when I first saw it it didn’t seem like a very good option to me. It is from Amisu and you can shop it in any New Yorker store (can’t find it online) and it is the most comfortable knit dress ever! You know how some knit dresses tend to irritate your skin? Well not this one! This one is so soft and comfortable that I can spend forever dressed in it, plus it hugs my expanding curves just right and the length is to-die-for! This is part of the reason I felt confident enough to top it with my short jacket from Pull and Bear that I’ve had for ages and that I never thought I’d wear during this period.

My shoes are from Carvela and I got them the year I was away in London to get my MA degree therefore I was really surprised to still find them online (this was more than four years ago, after all!) but I guess the two main trends that characterises them are hot right now: platform and wood! They are very comfortable, but not to the point where you can wear them all day long as they are quite high (13 cm) which can be a little dangerous especially because my centre of gravity is changing all the time. Being a sunny day out, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to wear my beloved Dior sunglasses. I also opted for the grey DKNY bucket bag as that was the obvious option for a day filled with shopping because I need both of my hands to be free.

img_6077

D also played along with grey hues and opted for his Scotch and Soda grey jeans with a grey v-neck t-shirt from Tommy Hilfiger. Because he seems to feel the cold a bit more than me, he wore his vest from Bershka to keep him warm. His grey classic Converse shoes could not be left at home – as you can see he has quite the variety of grey Converse shoes. Naturally he decided on finally wearing sunglasses for this photoshoot and chose his Ray-Ban Aviators to complete the look. Bling-wise we were both quite scarce as he only wore his Fossil bracelet while I wore a Swarovski bracelet and ring. We both decided to wear our Tissot watches.

We are keeping our fingers crossed for as many sunny lovely days like this one this autumn and I can’t wait to show you what we ended up buying during our shopping weekend!

Autumn has no plans of getting warmer and/or nicer!

If you see D in a jacket than it’s settled: it is cold outside! He usually wears a t-shirt and not much else until the temps get as sown as 15 degrees C, so despite the apparent flimsy warm autumn clothes we are wearing in this photoshoot, let me tell you, it is getting colder every day outside. Which mostly sucks but not really if you consider the fact that I can now wear all my lovely autumn dresses (for a short period of time) and my lovely pumps and boots. That being said, had I not been pregnant, I would’ve whine about this weather in every single post as I have been known to be a spring-summer king of girl that actually hates both autumn and winter. To be honest, this autumn has come way too fast and way too wet for my taste (we only had a few hours to shoot last week in total).

Processed with Snapseed.

Mostly I am over the top because my Herve Leger bandage dress is still fitting nicely over the growing bump. This is a time when the tiny human being inside me grows so fast that I am not really sure in the morning what will still fit me so it is mostly a game of trial and error every single day. I am trying to shoot as many outfits as I can but that bitchy weather is not really helping much (it has been pouring since yesterday afternoon in Bucharest and apparently until Thursday that is the way things are going to stay – here you have it, a weather forecast update). Honestly, by Thursday, I have no idea what in the world will still fit me.

On me:

Dress – Herve Leger; Shoes – Guess; Bag – Atelier Lemnia; Coat – H&M; Bling – Swarovski, Constantin Nautics, Pandora and Tomorrowland; Watch – Daniel Wellington

For this photoshoot we both agreed on red, I combined it with black, while D used grey. All in all, I am quite happy with the way things turned out, but it has become more clear now that the man needs a serious autumn shopping trip as his go-to things are t-shirts, jeans and sneakers. Enough about him in this paragraph… As stated earlier, my lovely Herve Leger bandage dress fits and feels wonderfully over my bump (thank you elastic!) therefore I really wanted to take advantage of the matter and shoot some pics in it. I paired it with my red patent Guess pumps that D got for me about 5 or 6 years ago (when Loubs were way out of our budget) and until this day, they are definitely my most comfortable red shoes.

On D:

T-shirt – Scotch and Soda; Jacket – ZARA; Jeans – Scotch and Soda; Shoes – Converse; Bling – Fossil; Watch – Daniel Wellington

To keep my promise where layering is concerned and to keep any cold away, I finished the outfit with my H&M wool jacket that is way warmer that I had expected and will probably hep me get through this winter as well. Moving along to the bag…This bag is yet another item I got at Untold Festival last August (lots of shopping going on there) and it is Romanian made by Lemnia Atelier. You should really check them out as you get great quality for your money. I think that from now on I am going to get most of my clutches from them! Bling wise I wore my Swarovski bracelet, my Constantin Nautics bracelet and both my Pandora and Tomorrowland rings.

D, for some reason really wanted to wear grey, and he did so wonderfully and he managed to match everything in his outfit even better than me. His pinstripe t-shirt is from Scotch and Soda and the thins red lines match his grey Converse sneaks perfectly as they also have a thin red line on the sole. His jeans are also from Scotch and Soda (more matching points!) and his grey leather jacket is from Zara and I think it is just as old as my Guess pumps. He kept his accessorising to a minimum and only opted for his Fossil bracelet. We both wore our matching (well, the nato straps are identical) Daniel Wellington watches.

I can’t really say that I normally hate autumn as that is a very harsh word to describe it, but I do hate the weather we have had so far during this autumn. Like seriously, how much more rain can we get here? It is really messing with my shooting schedule and I think we need to find a place to shoot inside from now on.

Daytime Festival Feeling…Part II

This was the second time we roamed the streets of Cluj to have a full photoshoot because, as stated in an earlier post, because of security reasons, we weren’t allowed with our camera at the festival thus having to take our fashion shoots on the streets. That was not necessarily a bad thing as this city has a lot of amazing places to offer, like this wall over here. The downside to wanting to actually go to the festival and being pregnant resulted in the fact that most days I was too tired to take photos – we just went out to eat and because we did the eating part sitting down, most of the posts will be of food.

IMG_4792

For this photoshoot we both opted for a casual beige/greige/kaki combo as this fitted our mood and energy levels best on the third day of the festival – tired af! Yes, these photos were taken on the third day because on the second day, all I wanted to do was eat and sleep and get ready for the night as that second night was the fullest for us of them all. We both knew the old centre of Cluj very well, but actually walking there and searching for places to take photos really opened our eyes to details that we have not noticed until now – like the said wall. This blogging activity really has a lot of perks!

On me:

Dress – Dubai; Sandals – Bata; Bag – Mango; Bling – Tomorrowland (ring and bracelet), Pandora and Swarovski; Sunglasses – Dior; Watch – Tissot

Back to the outfits… I really hate having anything against my belly these days so mostly I am sporting dresses hoping that the weather will stay on the hot side as much time as possible. This dress is from Dubai from one of their markets and is really one of the most comfortable dresses I own, not to mention the fact that it really is the perfect shape and length for this period where my legs haven’t gotten fat enough to make me want to cover them, but my belly grew enough to need loose things to cover it. I paired the dress with my yellow fringed platform sandals from Bata and this is yet another item aside from the dress that will not benefit from a link in today’s post simply because I couldn’t find anything similar online. The bag – that I will link – is from Mango and I chose it because it matched both the colour theme and the fringe detail found on the sandals. Bling wise I kept is neutral with rings from Tomorrowland, Pandora and Swarovski, while not forgetting my Dior sunglasses on this sunny day.

IMG_4798

On D:

Shorts – Scotch and Soda; T-shirt – Mango; Shoes – Paez; Bag – New Yorker; Bling – Constantin Nautics; Sunglasses – Ray-Ban; Watch – Tissot

D also wore colours similar to the ones I chose – naturally! – which made me a very happy girl. He opted for his camo shorts from Schotch and Soda and paired them with a plain beige t-shirt from Mango. Yes, he did not wear any fringe detail but I promise that at some point I will make him wear something very fringe-y! To finish his look he chose his new Paez espadrilles – we both bought a few pairs from the fashion corner at the festival – that perfectly complimented his outfit. The bag that matched the turquoise wall so perfectly is from New Yorker and he bought it ages ago and is just perfect for carrying all the camera necessities while we are on vacation.

He managed to wear a pair of sunglasses – Ray-Ban –  even though he usually doesn’t bother while we are taking photos as they tend to get in the way of him taking pics. He also kept it simple where accessories are concerned only wearing his Constantin Nautics bracelet aside from the Untold bracelets. We both wore our Tissot watches that as stated earlier got changed in the evening for the more festival appropriate G-Shock watches.

Army Brats…

Taking this photoshoot to the woods and dressing accordingly. This post will be like some of those ‘Sunday posts’ where there will be barely any text as we are on the road to the greatest festival of the summer – UNTOLD, so not much time for texting as a full day on the road awaits us, but I didn’t want to stop posting. In other words, if you want a live update on what’s happening at UNTOLD, you should check our Facebook page as well as out Instagram accounts (L and D).

IMG_4155

Back to this short fashion post. This is exactly the type of dress that will carry me through a good chunk of autumn despite the fact that it is a summer piece. Unfortunately I couldn’t find it online anymore, but I did get it from Mango and I linked an alternative. Why it’s ok to wear it in autumn as well? Well first of all the colour, just imagine it paired with oxblood tights and wellington boots or high-heeled booties. Then there’s the fabric which is kinda thick but also kinda flow-y. And lastly, you can just ignore that fact that it doesn’t provide any arm heat as you can either wear it over a blouse or layer a cardigan. I will definitely shoot it during this autumn as well just to prove a point. Another great thing about it is the fact that it has got room, I honestly think that it can carry my up until the seventh month of the pregnancy.

IMG_4187

IMG_4186

On me:

Dress – Mango; Shoes – Mango; Bag – Mango; Bling – Swarovski, Tomorrowland and Pandora; Watch – Tissot

Looks like lately I’ve been obsessed with wedges, because let’s be honest, whenever we feel like we gained a few kgs, no matter the reason, we immediately want to look taller and wedges are the the perfect compromise between height and comfort. These wedges are also from Mango, and come to think about it, my entire outfit is from Mango as the bag is also Mango. Well, you can’t beat a great discount and great quality!

IMG_4169

IMG_4159

On D:

T-shirt – Mango; Shorts – Scotch and Soda; Shoes – VAS; Bling – Constantin Nautics; Watch – Tissot

D also wanted to get lost in the scenery and went for a kaki green outfit. Despite the fact that he didn’t wear a full Mango outfit, he did wear a Mango t-shirt. Apparently we are Mango addicts! His shorts are one of my favourites and they are from Scotch and Soda and I think that he should buy more shorts from them as opposed from H&M. For comfort reasons and because it was hot as hell when we took these photos, he wore his VAS flip-flops, decision which he immediately regretted as a forest environment and flip-flops do not go well together.

Accessories-wise, I opted for a gold Swarovski bracelet while D opted for his latest Constantin Nautics obsession bracelet. I also wore a multitude of rings including my Tomorrowland and Pandora rings and we both wore out Tissot watches.

Although this was supposed to be a short, barely-any-text post, apparently I can’t stop rambling and this turned out to be a rather decent sized post. I will try and keep it short the next time I will be writing on the road. Do not forget to follow our UNTOLD experience while also reading out posts!

Relax…

This is yet another blog post with barely any text in it, first of all because my arm still hurts a bit, and second of all, this Sunday is getting crazier by the minute…

IMG_2514

All these photos were taken yesterday, when we realised that we didn’t have any food in our fridge and we were literally fed up with take away pizza as that’s the only thing we ate all of last week. D decided he’s had enough and announced first thing in the morning that we were having a decent lunch in the park.Luckily the weather was ok-ish and I didn’t need to wear something with long sleeves. We both chose the most comfortable clothes we had (clean!) and off we went.

IMG_2488

IMG_2508

On me:

Jeans – Replay; Top – Lefties; Shoes – Puma; Bling – Constantin Nautics, Pandora and Tomorrowland; Bag – Michael Kors; Watch – Longines

After about half an hour of snapping photos, our tummies decided that we desperately needed food. We ate at Isoletta and I have to say that it’s an amazing place to eat. True, it’s on the very expensive side, but the food, the service and the location are all excellent.

IMG_2512

IMG_2499

On D:

Jeans – ZARA; T-shirt – Scotch&Soda; Bling – Constantin Nautics and Fossil; Shoes – Nike; Watch – Aviator

You can literally feel the high quality of all the ingredients used, and the waiters are very well schooled. To be honest, we’ve both been to equally expensive restaurants before and the service wasn’t in any way comparable to this place. Nor was the food! This in my opinion is a place to try out at least once. As this weekend we seem to have been on the run for 48 hours (like we were running a long marathon), we didn’t have time to try out the deserts, but we did both have appetisers and mains.

IMG_2526

IMG_2527

I had the cheese plate, that in my opinion is for two persons, and being a cheese lover I have to say that the variety and the quality of the cheese was extraordinary, and D had the beef tartar. Normally I hate raw meat, but I couldn’t resist and I tried it. It was definitely the best tartar I’ve ever had and D confirmed that it was the best he’d ever had. As a main, I had the mushroom soup that was spectacular and D had the four cheese pasta that he loved even though he is not really a cheese lover. All in all, this is definitely a place to try at least once.

Blue skies…

Here’s yet another bundle of pics from Madrid. I think this post here contains the largest number of photos we’ve ever posted, simply because choosing pics from this day was extremely hard.

IMG_1477

I’d like to point out the fact that I’ve really tried to do a no-jeans vacation for once, but I just could’t resist this pair I’ve found in Madrid from Pepe Jeans London. I mean, the colour is just perfect for those long summer days and short summer nights, and even though I have about 20 pairs of skinnies, I did not have this exact wash, so D had to comply and agree that I should have them.

IMG_1445

IMG_1473

On me:

Blouse – ZARA; Jeans – Pepe Jeans London; Sweater – Terranova; Shoes – VANS; Bag – Michael Kors; Sunglasses – Ray-Ban; Bling – Swarovski, Pandora and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Daniel Wellington

Usually whenever I do some vacation shopping, I always wait until I get home to actually wear the stuff I buy, but this time, I just had to wear them the second day after I bought them.

IMG_1478

IMG_1479

These photos were taken on our third (photo documented) day in Madrid, and the weather was plain and simple perfect. As stated in an earlier post, we’re not exactly evenly matched colour-wise, but we both chose something light blue to wear.

IMG_1471

IMG_1464

On D:

Shirt – Massimo Dutti; Jeans – Scotch & Soda; Vest – Bershka; Shoes – Nike; Bag – from Barcelona; Bling – Fossil and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Daniel Wellington

I decided on a white blouse from ZARA, which you can’t really see in any of the pics (as i intended) because I wore my summer white sweater from Terranova (as for the blouse, I couldn’t find the exact same item online, so I’ve linked some alternatives), that I got ages ago, over it. Since it was Sunday, and I was on my third step of my CHANEL routine (Le Weekend) I couldn’t wear any make-up, hence the less bronzy look, and decided on wearing just a bit of mascara. I’ve chosen my trusted VANS because a) they’re white and b) we had a lot of exploring to do by foot.

IMG_1486

IMG_1485

As per usual, I’m wearing my Michael Kors Hamilton Traveller bag. I think I’ve worn this bag a thousand times and I think I’ll wear it to death because it’s the perfect size to fit all sorts of necessities and small enough to not annoy me when I need both of my hands.

IMG_1499

D chose his Massimo Dutti shirt which matched the shade of my jeans, and, as opposed to me, he chose a darker look. One could say that aside for the blue items, we were like a chess board. He went for his darker Scotch & Soda (one of his favourite brands) jeans and his way-too-poufy (for this weather) vest from Bershka, that he mostly carried around in his bag.

IMG_1505

IMG_1510

He, like me, chose his comfortable black Nikes and the one and only bag that he packed that he bought a few years ago from Barcelona from one of the many street fairs happening there all year round.

IMG_1512

Sunday was the day we visited the Templo de Debod and Parque del Oeste. You can find loads more info on the locations of our photoshoot in yesterday’s post. I hope you can see from the pics the amount of fun we had on Easter Sunday.
