We’re having a…

We are beyond excited about the news we got from our last appointment. First of all, the little human growing inside me is very healthy, active and has all the toes and fingers in place. And it’s a GIRL!!! D is going to be surrounded by girls – me, our beloved dog and the little princess that will soon join us! And when I say soon, I mean we are about three and a half months away from meeting her and we can’t wait! No, we did not paint the nursery pink, nor will we buy pink things for her, but we did feel the need to have a pink photoshoot despite it being October and quite cold outside.

Both of us suspected that we are going to have a girl from the 12th week when the doctor told us that there is a very good chance of that, but we decided to not get over-excited until we knew for sure. This time we are 100% sure that a little princess will be joining us in January – yes, we saw her hoo-ha and all so this is happening and there is no chance of any surprises. We did not have any preferences going into this pregnancy only that the baby be healthy and that I will feel fine. Up until now, these two wishes have come true and hope things will go on just as smoothly from now on!

That being said, I do not want to make this post about the fashion bit in it as we are under no circumstances dressed for autumn, but rather for this very happy announcement. Since I am coming closer and closer to the last three months of pregnancy, I will soon upload yet another ‘Pregnancy Feelings’ post about the second trimester and besides the feelings, weight gain and healthy bit of it, I really want to share with you all the stuff we planned and did during this trimester to help you understand why any pregnant woman should take fully advantage if this period.

Hopefully, we will soon finish all our redecorating (nesting) and we will be able to share with you all that we’ve been doing for the past few weeks (months?). Until then, enjoy our announcement photos and brace yourselves as our little one is coming and she will come kicking and screaming (hopefully not all the time!).

Favourite so far…

I think I have found my favourite dress/ caftan in the whole world. First of all, with all this getting fat around all the places that I’ve been busting my ass to avoid, I feel like there’s not much that works well with my newly acquired curves. This caftan is different though, it just hides everything that needs hiding and only shows the best you’ve got. Although I’ve always wanted a caftan, for some reason I never got around to actually buying one until this summer in Milan. But I will not stop at this one, NO!

IMG_4117

I will make it my goal to find as many beautiful caftans as possible this summer. Well, especially this summer, as I really need them to make me look my best given the new fattening circumstances…As for the colour theme of this photoshoot, the full blue look occurred by chance and has nothing to do with what our baby will be. I just needed to get that out of the way in order ton proceed to the actual fashion post at hand.

On me:

Dress – Luisa Spagnoli; Sandals – Love Moschino (alternative); Bag – Mihaela Glavan; Bling – Swarovski, Tomorrowland and Pandora; Sunglasses – Dior; Watch – Tissot

Have I ever told you how much I love the blue, turquoise and yellow combo? Well, let me just insist on the fact that in my opinion there is no other combo that screams long summer days more than this one. Like, seriously, there’s nothing better! And, not to brag, but this caftan has all these amazing summer colours combined to perfection, AND (drumroll), D was the one that actually found it at Luisa Spagnoli while we were in Milan. I have to admit that I was very surprised of his find because this is one of my mother favourite shops and we were actually in it trying to find something for her. Obviously, this does not mean that I do not have more stuff from Luisa Spagnoli, it just means that I am surprised that D found the perfect caftan for me there in less than 2 mins.

On D:

Shorts – H&M; T-shirt – Polo Ralph Lauren; Shoes – Polo Ralph Lauren; Bling – Constantin Nautics; Sunglasses – Ray-Ban; Watch – Tissot

I was totally inspired and decided to wear it on yet another hot, hot, day in Bucharest and I paired it with my yellow Love Moschino bow sandals that I’ve had for ages and that I couldn’t find anywhere online. The reason I chose yellow sandals is the fact that this outfit needed just a bit more yellow in it to prove my colour point. I also chose my Mihaela Glavan gold clutch bag and the huge turquoise Swarovski cocktail ring alongside my Tomorrowland and Pandora rings. I kept my hair neat with a simple low pony as I always do whenever a big print is involved. Obviously, my Dior sunglasses couldn’t miss this sunny day.

D also opted for a turquoise and blue combo, but he skipped the yellow, well at least he tried, but he still had a hint of sunny coloured yellow on his Polo Ralph Lauren sneakers. His polo of choice for the day is also from Polo Ralph Lauren and his shorts are, quite obviously H&M. Maybe I should start making him shop at different stores for a change. He couldn’t be bothered with much accessorising so he only wore a Constantin Nautics bracelet and his aviator Ray-Bans. We both kept kept in line with our Tissot obsession and wore our T-race watches.

This, is so far, my favourite pregnancy look and I am going to try and find some more similar clothes for this summer and maybe stretch it until early autumn. I will keep you photo updated on my quest for the perfect caftans!

French Pyramids…

Well, here we are in the city of love…Again! Both of us have seen Paris numerous times and for some reason we keep coming back. It’s not that we like it, or anything, quite the contrary, there are at least 7 cities that we like more than Paris that we’ve managed to visit less often, unfortunately. To be honest, we came to Paris because in March we had tickets to the Euro 2016 final, but our team needed to be qualify in a significant knockout stage. Naturally, football in Romania is on a downward spiral and therefore we were left with paid hotel and flight and basically 4 nights in the city’s most crowded period. Lucky for us, the weather was nicer than in Bucharest, and by that I mean more bearable heat-wise and we were able to enjoy long walks and an overall relaxing time. We didn’t want to visit anything as we both did that in our past visits here, so all we had to do was take pictures for our blog and just enjoy each other’s company.

IMG_3933

The first day we got there, I desperately needed to get the new lipgloss from Christian Loubutin – yeah, desperately!- so off we went to find the much coveted lipgloss. To our surprise, for the first time in our lives, we found the square in front of Louvre empty. I suspect that occurred because everyone in Paris was getting ready for the upcoming semi-final match. Since we couldn’t be bothered with the crowded FanZone, we decided to tick that place off our photo bucket-list. Luckily for us, the light was just perfect, semi-dawn and clear skies all the way and the pyramids all to ourselves.

On me:

Dress – Mango; Shoes – Tommy Hilfiger; Bag – Obag; Sunglasses – Dior; Bling – Pandora (bracelets and ring) and Tomorrowland; Watch – Longines

I decided to take advantage of the perfect temperature (about 25 degrees)  and wore a maxi dress for the first time this year. I opted for an old floral dress that I got from Mango, and that unfortunately isn’t available anymore, but fear not, I found a decent alternative. In my opinion, nothing works better with a maxi dress, especially a floral one, that flat sandals, therefore I chose to wear this very comfortable pair from Tommy Hilfiger that I bought two years ago. Since I chose a blue theme for our first day in Paris, my new blue Obag couldn’t be left at home and as for accessorising, I told you I’m never taking the Dior sunglasses off. I also opted for my two full Pandora bracelets, one entirely filled by D before we got married and the other filled by friends and family. Obviously, I couldn’t leave my Tomorrowland and Pandora rings at home.

On D:

T-shirt – Calvin Klein; Shorts – Pull&Bear; Shoes – Polo Ralph Lauren; Bling – Fossil and Costantin Nautics; Sunglasses – Ray-Ban ; Watch – Longines

D kept in theme and wore his Calvin Klein blue t-shirt that I just love, and a pair of Pull&Bear light blue denim shorts. He also chose a pair of very comfortable shoes from Polo Ralph Lauren and his newly acquired Ray-Ban sunglasses. As usual, he wore his Constantin Nautics and Fossil bracelets, and, big surprise, we both decided to take out Longines watches for this long weekend instead of the usual Daniel Wellington. In retrospect, knowing the chaos that occurred at the FanZone, I sure am happy we both decided to see the matches in much more civilised conditions.

More from our match-watching in tomorrow’s post, and again, do not expect us to show you any notable landmarks as there are a lot of people more educated on the subject that write all the city guides and we do not want to take their place. You will however be delighted with a few places to eat in Paris that we discovered during this long weekend.

Daydreaming Rooftop Party…

The last couple of days have been hectic and filled with all sorts of activities that required our full attention… I really wanted to be able to post this yesterday as this is the first of many festival fashion posts to come this summer. Since the Daydreaming Rooftop Party is the intro to Untold festival, we just had to be there, especially since Satoshi Tomiie was mixing.

IMG_2807

Luckily, the weather turned out to be ok in the evening, as opposed to Friday morning when the weather was horrible. Despite this being a party on the rooftop of a shopping centre, both D and I decided on a relaxed festival look. I chose a peasant dress and gladiator sandals while he chose chinos and a v-neck t-shirt. Unfortunately, you can’t find these Rachel Zoe beauties that I’m wearing online anymore, but there are literally hundreds of options as gladiator sandals are quite big this summer. The same goes for the Michael Kors bag, but I found a pretty close alternative online.

On me:

Dress – ZARA; Shoes – Rachel Zoe; Bag – Michael Kors; Bling – Tomorrowland, Pandora and Swarovski; Watch – Daniel Wellington; Shades – Woodfellas

We took these pictures right before the party, and D was very excited about them as he just loved the sunset light and said that this is the perfect light for creative photos. Once there, we both enjoyed the party so much that we really forgot to take any pics of the event, but hey, it really opened our appetite for this summer’s festivals.

On D:

Pants – ZARA; T-shirt – Tommy Hilfiger; Shoes – Polo Ralph Lauren; Bling – Fossil and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Daniel Wellington; Shades – Ray-Ban

As today is Sunday, and therefore, it is ‘barely-any-text-day’ I will shut-up now, and let you enjoy D‘s creative photos!

Conscious in Madrid!

Back on track with my no-jeans vacation goal. We were very lucky that the weather continued to be warm and sunny, so I was able to wear my H&M Conscious pants again. I needed it to be warm as wearing these pants, even though they’re long, feel like I’m only wearing shorts (the gif will better illustrate what I’m saying). As you know, I love these pants and I’m committed to making them a statement piece this summer in my wardrobe.

IMG_1637

These photos were taken on the day we imagined we were going to be able to visit Madrid’s Botanical Garden, hence the green theme. I had the perfect photoshoot decor in mind, but the two-hours queue changed our plans so we had to change venue for one of the beautiful small streets this city has to offer.

IMG_1639

Silly as you know us to be by now, of course we searched for the appropriate street for us to jump on and off stuff. We got fixated on the poor street poles, as you can see. My attempt wasn’t blog-worthy good, like D‘s was, mainly because of the beloved pants. We ended up on this street as we were on our way to DStage, because we were stupid enough to not take into consideration that this place is fully booked until November. So we did the best we could with the situation at hand and we did a full photoshoot near the untouchable restaurant.

IMG_1664

IMG_1674

Seeing the pics when we got back to our hotel room, I realised again (not that it was necessary), just how much I love these pants. What got me 100% convinced was the fact that I’ve worn them with sneakers and I don’t look as stupid as I expected, so I feel that they were worth every one of the 25€ I’ve spent on them as I just love wearing flares with sneakers. The pictured sneakers were bought by yours truly two days before from Madrid, making me break my shopping-on-vacation rule again.

On me:

Blazer – H&M; Blouse – ZARA; Pants – H&M; Shoes – MTNG Attitude; Bag – Michael Kors; Bling – Swarovski, Pandora and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Daniel Wellington; Sunglasses – WoodFellas

I paired them with a white, lace crop top from ZARA because I loved the crop top-high waist trend last year and I’m beyond happy that it’s fashionably acceptable this year as well. As I’ve said in earlier posts, I’m also in love with the green and white combo, so it was quite easy for me to choose the print on my sneakers, as, if you’ll go to VAS online shop, you’ll find there lots of other prints and colour combos.

IMG_1655

IMG_1676

On D:

Shirt – H&M; Jeans – Replay; Shoes – Polo Ralph Lauren; Bling – Fossil and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Daniel Wellington; Belt – Replay

While it might look as warm, despite the clear sky and the sun shining, it was chilly enough to make me put on a white blazer from H&M, to finish the look and keep me comfortably warm. The jacket is the only item that you can’t currently find online as it’s from last year’s collection, but I found something very similar on their site. As usual in this vacation, I wore my Michael Kors bag, my Swarovski and Pandora rings, the Constantin Nautics bracelet and my new favourite watch from Daniel Wellington. Also, because it was sunny and I was wearing green, I decided to wear my WoodFellas sunglasses.

D also chose green (maybe I also had a word in convincing him) for the flop-visit to the Botanical Garden, but, again, as opposed to my colour-combo, he wore light green and dark blue. The light green shirt he’s sporting in these pics is from H&M (yeah, we do shop together) and I think he got it in four different colours, mainly because the material is very soft and he needed soft shirts for the office while his tattoo was healing, and because it doesn’t need much ironing, not that we bother with ironing anyway.

IMG_1646

He combined the shirt with his dark Replay jeans and Polo Ralph Lauren sneakers, also a darker shade of blue. Just like me, he wore the same jewellery, the Fossil bracelet, Constantin Nautics necklace (yeah, that sounds so feminine!) and the current obsession, the Daniel Wellington watch, which we both got for each other as an early Easter present (see our facebook page!).

You can also spot, in some of the photos, his dark blue Replay belt, and, unfortunately for him, since he’s taking most of our photos, there’s no real point in him wearing any sunglasses which was hard on the days the sun shone brightly.

IMG_1644

This was yet another great day spent in Madrid, with my Jawbone tracker registering about 23000 steps, so yes, our feet were killing us, but ‘luckily’ for us, we only had one more full day before heading back home to start acting adultly again. Unlike other fashion posts, most of the stuff we’re wearing is still online, so most of the links provided will take you to the exact pieces we’re wearing.
