Favourite so far…

I think I have found my favourite dress/ caftan in the whole world. First of all, with all this getting fat around all the places that I’ve been busting my ass to avoid, I feel like there’s not much that works well with my newly acquired curves. This caftan is different though, it just hides everything that needs hiding and only shows the best you’ve got. Although I’ve always wanted a caftan, for some reason I never got around to actually buying one until this summer in Milan. But I will not stop at this one, NO!

IMG_4117

I will make it my goal to find as many beautiful caftans as possible this summer. Well, especially this summer, as I really need them to make me look my best given the new fattening circumstances…As for the colour theme of this photoshoot, the full blue look occurred by chance and has nothing to do with what our baby will be. I just needed to get that out of the way in order ton proceed to the actual fashion post at hand.

On me:

Dress – Luisa Spagnoli; Sandals – Love Moschino (alternative); Bag – Mihaela Glavan; Bling – Swarovski, Tomorrowland and Pandora; Sunglasses – Dior; Watch – Tissot

Have I ever told you how much I love the blue, turquoise and yellow combo? Well, let me just insist on the fact that in my opinion there is no other combo that screams long summer days more than this one. Like, seriously, there’s nothing better! And, not to brag, but this caftan has all these amazing summer colours combined to perfection, AND (drumroll), D was the one that actually found it at Luisa Spagnoli while we were in Milan. I have to admit that I was very surprised of his find because this is one of my mother favourite shops and we were actually in it trying to find something for her. Obviously, this does not mean that I do not have more stuff from Luisa Spagnoli, it just means that I am surprised that D found the perfect caftan for me there in less than 2 mins.

IMG_4105

On D:

Shorts – H&M; T-shirt – Polo Ralph Lauren; Shoes – Polo Ralph Lauren; Bling – Constantin Nautics; Sunglasses – Ray-Ban; Watch – Tissot

I was totally inspired and decided to wear it on yet another hot, hot, day in Bucharest and I paired it with my yellow Love Moschino bow sandals that I’ve had for ages and that I couldn’t find anywhere online. The reason I chose yellow sandals is the fact that this outfit needed just a bit more yellow in it to prove my colour point. I also chose my Mihaela Glavan gold clutch bag and the huge turquoise Swarovski cocktail ring alongside my Tomorrowland and Pandora rings. I kept my hair neat with a simple low pony as I always do whenever a big print is involved. Obviously, my Dior sunglasses couldn’t miss this sunny day.

D also opted for a turquoise and blue combo, but he skipped the yellow, well at least he tried, but he still had a hint of sunny coloured yellow on his Polo Ralph Lauren sneakers. His polo of choice for the day is also from Polo Ralph Lauren and his shorts are, quite obviously H&M. Maybe I should start making him shop at different stores for a change. He couldn’t be bothered with much accessorising so he only wore a Constantin Nautics bracelet and his aviator Ray-Bans. We both kept kept in line with our Tissot obsession and wore our T-race watches.

This, is so far, my favourite pregnancy look and I am going to try and find some more similar clothes for this summer and maybe stretch it until early autumn. I will keep you photo updated on my quest for the perfect caftans!

Speedy Lemonade!

This is going to be one of those ‘barely-any-text’ posts, as today is mad, mad, mad! You’re going to find out soon enough why, if you haven’t already from our Instagram accounts and our Facebook page. Bottom line is that there’s no better way to cool down than to wear fresh colours like yellow and blue.

IMG_3734

The dress I’m wearing is yet another dress designed by the one and only Anca Maxim and, as with any of her designs, this one can take numerous shapes. It has an elastic band underneath that allows you to give it this intricate form. That can be adjusted in any way you (I) wish. I paired it with these lovely yellow Sophia Webster sandals that I got a few years ago and my gold Mihaela Glavan clutch bag. Accessory wise I opted for a Swarovski ring and bracelet to compliment my Tomorrowland and Pandora rings.

On D:

Shorts – H&M; T-shirt – Lacoste; Shoes – Ralph Lauren; Bling – Fossil; Watch – Tissot

D also kept it in the same colour palette, choosing to pair his yellow H&M shorts (yes, another pair!) with his dark blue Lacoste t-shirt. Yup, we discovered he has two identical Lacoste t-shirts in his closet. That never happened to me, so the balance for the most thoughtful spender leans into my direction. He wore his Polo Ralph Lauren sneaks that perfectly match both the shorts and the t-shirt and only chose his Fossil bracelet as an accessory. We both wore our Tissot PR100 watches just to keep things to a minimum.

All in all, we are preparing a bunch of posts from abroad with impressions, places to eat and fashion, so please excuse today’s short post!

The saga continues…

The saga of high waisted shorts continues with a romper. The silhouette is exactly the same, the only difference being the fact that this romper, just like any romper, makes going to the toilet one complicated matter. I’m also back on a blue streak with this blue and white romper.

IMG_2514

I decided to add a few golden accents to this otherwise casual romper, and therefore, I upped my look to a more dinner appropriate rather than office appropriate outfit. This Mango romper is from three years back (if not older), but just as expected, fashion trends always tend to come back and this summer the blue and white combo gets more attention than the infamous Rose Quartz and Serenity Blue (I’m quite surprised about that). Back to the golden accents… I chose the forever fashionable Lance sandals from Jimmy Choo, that have gotten me out of every situation where you need to be a little more dressed up, ever since I bought them. They seem to forever be in trend so I honestly feel that this was one of my best splurges so far, they are a statement piece and something every shoe lover should have. I love them so much that I got them in orange as well and I do plan to get them in nude at some point, but until then, I got my eye on a few other statement shoes.

On me:

Romper – Mango; Sandals – Jimmy Choo; Clutch – Mihaela Glavan; Belt – Atelier Alsceva; Bling – Swarovski, Pandora and Tomorrowland; Watch – Longines; Shades – Gucci

My clutch is from Mihaela Glavan and I got it two years ago, but it still is one of my go-to clutches simply because it can fit a lot of stuff. The belt is custom made from Atelier Alsceva, but unfortunately you can’t find it anymore, but there are some alternatives online. Bling wise, I went for a Nirvana ring from Swarovski, naturally with my Pandora and Tomorrowland rings. The shades are from Gucci and you’ve seen them in a dozen fashion posts by now. We both chose our Longines watches, because I like to keep it on the masculine side a bit, no matter how feminine my outfit is, though this one is not really that feminine.

IMG_2502

On D:

Shirt – Tommy Hilfiger; Pants – ZARA; Shoes – Pull&Bear; Bling – Fossil and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Longines; Shades – Ray-Ban

D also chose a blue and white outfit to match mine. He didn’t go for any golden accents though, as he seems to lack in the gold shoes department (thankfully!). He picked his Tommy Hilfiger white shirt that I love so much and paired it with his ZARA pants that he got from Madrid. Yes, we really went ZARA wild in Madrid! The boat shoes he’s wearing are from Pull&Bear and he got them last year, so you’ll probably not going to find these exact ones, but there are lots of boat shoes online. Bling wise, he sticked to his Fossil bracelet and his Constantin Nautics necklace, and for the first time (I think!) on the blog, he is actually wearing his Ray-Ban sunglasses. As stated earlier, he is also wearing his Longines watch.

All in all, with me having blue hair right now, I really hope that this blue trend is here to stay for at least one month, as that’s the least I plan to keep my hair on the blue side. I do promise to post some different outfits soon, but I really wanted to make a point out of the whole high waisted shorts thing.

Two years have passed…

Two years ago, on this day, I wore a lot of white pouffy veil and D wore the lightest coloured suit in his closet, and we both were younger and fatter!

1658
So here’s the deal, to end the confusion, two years ago we had our religious ceremony, but, as a matter of fact, we signed the marriage license a year before (we’ll do an anniversary post on that too when the day comes). You’re probably wondering if I was pregnant or if we needed the benefit of being married… Well, none of those versions is right! We really wanted to have the date we met written in our marriage license (july) and ever since I can remember, I wanted to be a May bride. The only way that could happen, was if we had the two ceremonies a year apart. Today, we are celebrating the 2014 big wedding party, hence the white dress and the yellow bow-tie.

1682

The past two years (all seven of them actually) have been the best anyone could ever ask for. I’m certain there will be many more to come, filled with joy, love, harmony and new adventures. Never in my life could I have imagined a better life partner to share with all my happiness and my sorrow. D always supports every idea I have, no matter how stupid it sounds and he always puts up with my crankyness and my moods. He never put down any of my ideas and always encouraged me and helped me to pursue every little dream.

1689
The same went for our wedding party. Not once did he tell me that something I wanted wasn’t doable, on the contrary, he always did everything in his power to make sure that my exact vision would become reality. It is thanks to him and his constant support that I was able to have my dream wedding and I really hope that it fulfilled his expectations as well.

1686

1694

The entire party took us almost a year of planning because there were a lot of custom made details that usually implied a lot of handwork. A big help we had was our wedding planner that Marriott allocated for our event. She was really a miracle worker as a lot of the stuff I wanted was really specific. I had a very clear image in my mind on everything about the event, starting with the theme and ending with the napkin ribbons. Thanks to hubby dearest and our wedding planner, everything was in accordance to our ‘lemon-lime’ theme.
As opposed to the crystal clear picture I had in my mind regarding the decorations, the wedding dress was a real blur and three months before the event, I had no idea what I liked. That is until I went to Anca Maxim, that designed the dresses I wore for my civil ceremony, and she totally enlightened me and helped me find inspiration in one of Elie Saab‘s collections. I needed a custom made dress because I wanted it to perfectly match our theme, therefore, we had a yellow bow attached on the corset. I will be forever thankful to mrs. Maxim for making my dream dress a reality! The craftmanship and the tailoring were superb and I was sad to realize that I was only going to wear the dress for that one event. D got his suit custom made at Ego. We chose them simply because they’re the best at customizing suits. Since our theme required a certain colour combo, we needed the best and, honestly, working with them, we really felt like they are the best at what they do!

1726

1725

The obvious shoe choice for me was Christian Louboutin. The only problem with that was that he had nothing green in the current collection, but I had my eye on the Rosazissimo sandal for a long time. Finding the only green pair online, and in my size alone, made me think that those shoes were meant for me! As with all my Loubs, these sandals being 100mm heels were perfect for dancing an partying for more than 12 hours. D had his shoes custom made at Mihaela Glavan because finding the perfect combo of shape, colour and comfort was virtually impossible. Since my shoes were green, his had to have at least a little yellow in them, so we opted for a grey-yellow combo.
Since it was our wedding, we needed to have Converse sneakers in it no matter what! Custom made Converse, that is! Luckily, at the time we were planning the wedding, my best friend was in New York and we were able to have her send them to me as Converse doesn’t ship to Romania.

1744

The photos you see here were take by our favourite wedding photographer, Constantin Butuc, in Balcik for our ‘Trash the Dress’ photoshoot. Maybe next year, I’ll upload some photos from the actual wedding party and we’ll discuss a bit about caterers, decorators and florists.
I will stop rambling now as today we have a lot of celebrating to do, so we’ll probably be rather busy toasting for amazing years to come!

Sneak Peak from Madrid!

Just a quick hello from our vacation in Madrid!

Since there’s so much to do and see in this wonderful city this post is going to be very brief, but fear not, as I will probably have quite a few posts next week on our vacation here. Until then, I hope you enjoy these photos!

Serenity Rose Quartz…

Our fashion after-work moment… Before we headed off to Madrid for Easter! Boy do we need this vacation! Just the two of us, a beautiful ready-to-explore city and hopefully beautiful weather… After our last experience in Spain, in Barcelona, we knew that we were going to bring home a few extra kgs on our bodies, so we decided to shoot this last post before the fattening!

IMG_1728

Not much to say about this fashion post, except for the fact that we both managed to dress in the infamous (by now) colours of the year 2016. And yes, I realise now that these pics look a lot like we just came from our marriage-license signing, but I assure you we did that three years ago, though, we look a lot better in these photos.

We met after work to enjoy a little sun and a quiet lunch before going home to start the horrible act of packing for a vacay in spring (no idea how the weather will be like). D, being the wonderful husband that he is, bought me a lovely bouquet of what he thought were pink peonies, but were in fact a type of English Rose that resembles peonies. He wanted peonies as he knows that aside from tulips, peonies are my favourite flowers.

We had lunch at Gourmanderie and we totally recommend this place if you’re in the area as the food is beyond great and so is the staff and the overall atmosphere!

I do love the way these pics turned out so I will stop writing and let you all enjoy them. See you with some live photos from Madrid on our Instagram accounts!

P.S.: As per usual, most of the stuff we are wearing is from past seasons, but I did try and find some alternative buys for you.

Let’s be conscious…

IMG_1230

I’m not going to be a hypocrite and tell you about my actions that help save the Earth or what everyone should do in order for the next generations to live a healthy life on this planet, as that is none of my business and this is not a lecture on ecological footprint… This is supposed to be yet another post on fashion. When it comes to fashion, most brands usually have a recycling programme and some of them actually have a ‘conscious collection’ once per year.

H&M is one of those brands and their initiative is both on collecting old clothes in order to recycle them, as well as having a capsule collection that uses recycled materials. While I do appreciate the initiative, D knows all too well that it’s very hard if not impossible for me to part with my clothes. first reason being that THEY’RE MINE, second being that you never really know when something is going to be fashionable again. I’m not talking about the classic staple pieces, I’m talking about weird fashion pieces that have a way of coming back into the spotlight for a short period of time (no sense in actually buying them again, is there?). Because of my unhealthy attachment with my clothes, we ended up transforming one of the bedrooms into a walk-in closet (yup, after a long and tiering battle, I managed to convince him that we definitely need a 16 sqm closet), therefore, we now only have space for one kid in our lives, thus ending the annoying discussions we used to have with our parents about that.

Back on the fashion topic, and more specific on discussing these photos. Since yesterday the temps decided to go up to 31 degrees C, after work, D and I decided to escape into the forest for a bit and take some pics. The clothes you see in this shoot are from H&M‘s Conscious Collection released earlier this month. I’ve always loved high-waisted flare flowy pants and initially I had my mind set on these ones from the Fabulous Muses Capsule Collection by Nissa (dreamy collection!-ordered a few pieces from that one as well) but unfortunately their smallest size is 36 while I am a 34. Still that didn’t deter me, as I decided to go in store and try them, but to my disappointment they were still too large for me… Since I rarely ever find myself walking down the corridors of a shopping centre, I decided to look some more and stumbled upon H&M‘s take on those trousers (wayyyyy cheaper!). I happily realised they were from the Conscious Collection and that they were forest-green (yes, again with the green).

IMG_1242

Of course D mocked me and my sense of style, but he didn’t have in mind the exact combo for these trousers (he later appreciated them very much). I have to understand his mockery though as he is mostly used to seeing me in skinnies, chinos or cigarette style pants, so this was a major change. That didn’t stop him from saying that they look like beach-waiters uniforms, but I bought them anyway. Along with the top you see in the pics, also from the Conscious Collection for a total spend of 35 Euros (total win!). I liked the top as it hits two major fashion obsession (from what I could observe on Instagram): 1) the bare shoulders, which everyone seems to be doing these days and 2) the ruffled edge which seems to be very popular these days thanks to Coachella.

IMG_1241

Top – H&M ; Pants – H&M ; Sandals – Mihaela Glavan (similar ones here) ; Bracelets – Swarovski ; Rings – Swarovski ; Bag – Zara ; Shades – Gucci

As previous stated, I love, love, love the white and green combo so buying these two items seemed like a no-brainer. Throw in the side braids I was sporting in these pics (I passed on the school-girl braids that everyone seems to be so ecstatic about as I am, after all, 30 not 20) and my beloved gladiators (which seem to be getting the hype this year as well) and VOILA! Festival season is all sorted out!

The gladiators I’m wearing are from Mihaela Glavan, from last year’s collection, but you can find similar ones here in the new collection. The craftsmanship of these sandals is amazing as with any other shoes from the brand. also, what’s most important is that they are very comfortable, an attribute which is very hard to find among gladiator sandals.

IMG_1239

The bag is from ZARA and I literally got it a decade ago (before D), but I still use it quite often during festivals. As per usual I am wearing Swarovski bling because I just love them and deem that they are perfect for everyday wear. The sunglasses are from Gucci and they’re that type of model that just doesn’t go out of fashion.

I have to say that D had a wonderful idea with this photoshoot in the forest, as we both had a tone of fun (like we always do) and the temps were way easier to endure – I seriously need to get my inside thermometer to align to the outside temps as this is ridiculous, I can’t get dehydrated at 31 degrees C. What am I going to do during the real hot months??? Die holding the air conditioner in my arms? That’s why, maybe, it wouldn’t be too bad to start thinking about the planet one of these days. H&M has a wonderful collection to raise awareness.

L.

P.S.: Yes, I know I need to dye my hair! Will be on it next Monday testing OLAPLEX and I will keep you updated!
