Finally…some autumn shades!

Finally we are wearing a bit of brown! Beige actually, but the important thing is that we are  matching with our decor! Remember when I told you that I have some more over the knee boots on the way? Well this is one of the pairs! Yes, over the knee boots and Uggs are my current go-to uniform and I just love it! I mean there is nothing more comfortable than Uggs, as I mentioned in the previous post, and in my opinion nothing sexier than over the knee boots so I am and will abuse both of them! We are not really accustomed to wearing being and/or brown therefore there are not many pieces in our closet in that colour but after seeing these pics we are going to take some measures to fix that. Well D is, because I am still not comfortable buying lots of clothes but I do admit that from time to time I tend to go wild and buy stuff that I know I will wear post-pregnancy. We did feel the need to compliment our beige outfits with one of our favourite colours: blue and I honestly love this combo and will probably wear it quite a lot.

img_6894

Does the dress seem familiar (yes, it is a dress)? Well that’s because it is one of my summer dresses that I also wore here and that surprisingly still fits and feels great over my bump. Having recently discovered that I can layer basically any sweater on top of a summer dress, this look will probably be repeated lots of times during this season as I do still have a lot of dresses that are summer appropriate that still fit nicely. The secret with the sweater is that, right now, I am mostly wearing the sweaters that I used to wear as dresses last year. Because of the growing bump, they do not cover as much as they used to so a bit of layering is necessary. Regarding the details, the dress is from H&M and the sweater is from last year’s ZARA winter collection but I did link an alternative.

On me:

Dress – H&M; Sweater – ZARA; Boots – Public Desire; Bag – Love Moschino; Hat – Mango; Sunglasses – Gucci; Bling – Swarovski (ring and bracelet), Tous, Tomorrowland, Pandora; Watch – Apple

The boots! Let’s talk a bit about the boots. They are from Public Desire which are having a hype-moment on the internet right now and are some of the most affordable boots I own (actually the most affordable). They do deliver great quality for the price and their delivery service is great – I got them within a weeks from ordering. Naturally, I got them in another colour as well – which you will see shortly – and I have to point this out: they are extremely comfortable especially given the fact that this model is 11 cm high and I am 7 months pregnant. The hat is from Mango and I bought it last summer while in Milan. I did link an alternative and you can find lots of beige wool hats at other brand as well. Since the outfit crossed the hippie border a bit I felt the need to add a soft leather boho bag from Love Moschino that I got a few years ago. Naturally my big Gucci glasses could not miss the opportunity to see the light of day especially since we did get a bit of sun the day we shot these pics.

On D:

Coat – ZARA; T-shirt – H&M; Jeans – Replay; Boots – ZARA; Bling – Fossil; Watch – Ingersoll

D is a bit more newly dressed than me because hey, if I can’t buy clothes for myself, he might as well do it and I seriously love the fact that he shows interest in the new collections more and more these days and I enjoy going shopping with him very mush – no, I do not point out to him what he should or should not buy as he has a pretty strong sense of style, I’m there to confirm and urge him to buy stuff! Like this trench coat over here! He just looks so amazing in trench coats but for some reason he never owned one before, so I made him buy this lovely and very comfortable one from ZARA. If only they did a similar model for women as well as I feel that women’s are so rigid and uncomfortable. The boots are also new and also from ZARA and I think they match perfectly with the trench coat. Lately he has been known to wear comfortable basic white t-shirts and the ones from H&M are just great: they feel and fit perfectly to his frame and are very cheap so there is no panic if he stains them with his new tattoo. The jeans are some of his most reliable jeans from Replay.

Accessories wise, while you can’t see D‘s I am letting you in on a little secret: he was wearing his beige Ingersoll watch and his brown Fossil bracelet. I, on the other hand, decided to go in full-rings mode and wore my new favourite Tous ring alongside two Swarovski rings, a Pandora ring and my Tomorrowland ring. I just love these little rings that you can stack and wear in multiple ways. I also wore my Apple watch and my Swarovski bracelet.

img_6896

That about covers today’s post and I must confess that lately the weather has been horrible but I do hope that during the weekend we will be able to go out and shoot some of my picks from the Kenzo x H&M collaboration – yes, I could not help myself! And also some new pairs of over the knee boots…

Hippie Hippie Shake in Milan!!!

This is the first of many (four) outfit posts that we shot in Milan. For this short trip, my choice of colours was very earthy which is very unnatural to me. For some reason they started appealing to me right before I started packing and there you have it, the whole trip (well, most of it) we were both kinda hippy, kinda earthy. It’s a good thing that I chose mostly loose clothes as the weather in Milan was very hot, somewhat like Bucharest these days but with a much lower humidity, making it more pleasant to breathe in there.

IMG_3383

I’ve decided that these outfit posts are going to come in the order they occurred during this long weekend, therefore this was the first fashion moment from the very day we arrived there. We only got to shoot near out hotel and a bit at the Dome area because we only had a few hours of natural daylight and we did have a reservation to one of the best restaurants in Milan (Michelin stars and everything) and we just couldn’t be late. Yes, to answer your question, they let us into the restaurant dressed like that, so there wasn’t any imposed attire upon entry, but you do need to make a reservation in advance, at least a week before. Enough about that, as tomorrow’s post will be on that delicious start to our fattening process in Milan.

On me:

Dress – MANGO; Sandals – Gioseppo; Bag – MANGO; Bling – Tomorrowland, Pandora, Swarovski and Constantin Nautics; Shades – Gucci; Watch – Daniel Wellington

Back to the fashion moment we both shared on our first day… As stated earlier, I am a bit into the whole earthy, hippie trend right now, so I chose this lovely and very comfortable (really comfortable!) dress from Mango, that I got for next to nothing (discount alert throughout their stores – up to 70%)  – about 15 Euros – right before I started packing. To keep with the theme, I chose my Gioseppo sandals but instead of wearing the lace up to my knees I decided on a much more comfortable approach and tied them at my ankles. The bag was also a bargain from Mango and it fits perfectly with all the boho accessories I already have ready for this summer. As usual, I kept it simple accessories wise and only added the Swarovski ring set to my Pandora and Tomorrowland rings. I love this ring set as it’s very versatile and whenever I am packing I am always tempted to bring it along mainly because there are lots of ways to combine the three rings, but somehow, I always end up wearing it the same way (as you can see in the previous fashion posts). To complete my look, I also chose a Constantin Nautics bracelet and my Gucci big, brown shades that make me feel like Nicole Richie on a boho day.

IMG_3397

On D:

Pants – ZARA; T-shirt – Tommy Hilfiger; Shoes – Nike; Bling – Constantin Nautics and Fossil; Watch – Daniel Wellington

D kept things on a cleaner side, and wonderfully fooling me into going out with him without looking like a hobo (like me). The intelligent thing he did was that he wore more or less the same colours and therefore I was fooled into thinking that we matched. Looking at the photos, I now realise that he looks way more put together than me and I seriously think that he is the reason we were let inside the restaurant. To fool me, he chose his burnt orange pants from ZARA and combined them with a v-neck t-shirt in dark grey from Tommy Hilfiger. Somehow, he managed to perfectly match his Nikes to the whole outfit therefore fooling me into thinking that he was also in a earthy, hippie mood. Aside from his Fossil bracelet, he also wore a Constantin Nautics bracelet – told you he used all sorts of tricks to make me believe we matched. As with most of our vacations, we chose to bring along our Daniel Wellington watches with lots of nato straps to match every day.

After seeing these pics, as with all the photos from this weekend, I decided that since summer is here, I need to start trying out some of those much praised Vita Liberata self tanning mouses and I promise that I will photo document every step and come up with a review some time next week. Until then, I must warn you that a lot of Milan posts are still to come!

The saga continues…

The saga of high waisted shorts continues with a romper. The silhouette is exactly the same, the only difference being the fact that this romper, just like any romper, makes going to the toilet one complicated matter. I’m also back on a blue streak with this blue and white romper.

IMG_2514

I decided to add a few golden accents to this otherwise casual romper, and therefore, I upped my look to a more dinner appropriate rather than office appropriate outfit. This Mango romper is from three years back (if not older), but just as expected, fashion trends always tend to come back and this summer the blue and white combo gets more attention than the infamous Rose Quartz and Serenity Blue (I’m quite surprised about that). Back to the golden accents… I chose the forever fashionable Lance sandals from Jimmy Choo, that have gotten me out of every situation where you need to be a little more dressed up, ever since I bought them. They seem to forever be in trend so I honestly feel that this was one of my best splurges so far, they are a statement piece and something every shoe lover should have. I love them so much that I got them in orange as well and I do plan to get them in nude at some point, but until then, I got my eye on a few other statement shoes.

IMG_2475

On me:

Romper – Mango; Sandals – Jimmy Choo; Clutch – Mihaela Glavan; Belt – Atelier Alsceva; Bling – Swarovski, Pandora and Tomorrowland; Watch – Longines; Shades – Gucci

My clutch is from Mihaela Glavan and I got it two years ago, but it still is one of my go-to clutches simply because it can fit a lot of stuff. The belt is custom made from Atelier Alsceva, but unfortunately you can’t find it anymore, but there are some alternatives online. Bling wise, I went for a Nirvana ring from Swarovski, naturally with my Pandora and Tomorrowland rings. The shades are from Gucci and you’ve seen them in a dozen fashion posts by now. We both chose our Longines watches, because I like to keep it on the masculine side a bit, no matter how feminine my outfit is, though this one is not really that feminine.

IMG_2494

IMG_2502

On D:

Shirt – Tommy Hilfiger; Pants – ZARA; Shoes – Pull&Bear; Bling – Fossil and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Longines; Shades – Ray-Ban

D also chose a blue and white outfit to match mine. He didn’t go for any golden accents though, as he seems to lack in the gold shoes department (thankfully!). He picked his Tommy Hilfiger white shirt that I love so much and paired it with his ZARA pants that he got from Madrid. Yes, we really went ZARA wild in Madrid! The boat shoes he’s wearing are from Pull&Bear and he got them last year, so you’ll probably not going to find these exact ones, but there are lots of boat shoes online. Bling wise, he sticked to his Fossil bracelet and his Constantin Nautics necklace, and for the first time (I think!) on the blog, he is actually wearing his Ray-Ban sunglasses. As stated earlier, he is also wearing his Longines watch.

All in all, with me having blue hair right now, I really hope that this blue trend is here to stay for at least one month, as that’s the least I plan to keep my hair on the blue side. I do promise to post some different outfits soon, but I really wanted to make a point out of the whole high waisted shorts thing.

Wedding season is officially open!

Finally back to not seeing noises anymore, so I managed to sort out the photos we took right before arriving at the wedding/baptism party.

IMG_2066

Since it started at 3:30 p.m. D and I decided against a fully formal attire. We made that decision based on the way a formal dress looks at noon with the sun helping it sparkle more than it should. That doesn’t mean we ended up looking like party crashers coming straight from the office. We were more on the cocktail look side.

IMG_2033

IMG_2025

The theme I settled upon that morning was ‘midnight -nude’. I just love pairing nude items with strong colours. As a result, I opted for my newly bought ZARA skirt and a dark-blue sheer blouse. Neither of these two items is work appropriate. As you can see from the photos, the skirt is lingerie inspired which seems to be the look of the hour right now, and the top is silky sheer. I love it whenever I get to wear items as comfortable as these. This lingerie trend is so, so lovely and I can’t wait to find that perfect dress/slip to wear all summer with my denim jacket.

IMG_2042

IMG_2043

On me:

Skirt – ZARA; Shirt – no idea but I’ve looked for an alternative from ZARA; Shoes – Christian Louboutin; Bag – Furla; Bling – Swarovski and Pandora; Sunglasses – Gucci; Watch – Daniel Wellington

By the end of the evening I had made up my mind, I wanted more skirts like this one in a variety of colours. Since ZARA only has this blush shade for sale, I have to find a good seamstress. That being said, the only thing I didn’t really like about my outfit-and I realised it 5 mins before going out the door- is the fact that both my skirt and my blouse had a bow detail. In my opinion that is a big no-no, but it was too late to change, and I can’t stand being late.

IMG_2053

IMG_2049

On D:

Shirt – London Tailors; Pants – EGO; Shoes – Tommy Hilfiger; Bling – Fossil and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Daniel Wellington

I finished the outfit with my Christian Louboutin Pigalle Follies Spikes in Scarabe (which is basically a dark-blue with green undertones) and my dark-blue Furla mini Metropolis. Once again I reached the conclusion that Pigalles are the most comfortable stilettos out there.

Since I went for a nude-dark blue combo, D had to comply and he ended up having to go and buy a nude shirt that morning from London Tailors after two hours of desperately texting with me via whatsapp, as apparently a nude shirt is not that popular. I loved that he picked this one (actually it was the only one he found) because it’s got a great texture. His pants are from EGO and he got them last year for his sister’s wedding. Unfortunately you can’t find that store anymore. First of all, I love these pants because of the way they fit him. The tailoring is just superb. Another thing we both love about these pants are all the coloured details – buttons, sewing, pockets. He also wore his Tommy Hilfiger boat shoes, because he didn’t really want to go too formal with suit shoes. Obviously he didn’t have a bag.

We both kept our accessories to a minimum because this was a daytime event. We both wore our Daniel Wellington watches mainly because the coloured straps matched out theme. I also wore my Swarovski bracelets and ring and a Pandora ring. He wore his Constantin Nautics and Fossil bracelets. I wanted to keep it down with my accessories because the shoes were eye catching and I didn’t want to be too flashy. Looking at the photos now, I realise that we looked like a chess board (again) as I wore the darker shade on top and he wore the lighter shade on the bottom.

IMG_2070

This was definitely the most comfortable we’ve ever felt at a baptism/wedding event and I think that’s part of the reason we had such a great time. No corsets to keep me down, and no bow-tie to suffocate D. Overall, the event was a very successful one, at least from our point of view, the food was great, the music was very good and the group of people we interacted with was a lot of fun. I honestly think this was one of the best weddings we’ve ever been to.

Serenity Rose Quartz…

Our fashion after-work moment… Before we headed off to Madrid for Easter! Boy do we need this vacation! Just the two of us, a beautiful ready-to-explore city and hopefully beautiful weather… After our last experience in Spain, in Barcelona, we knew that we were going to bring home a few extra kgs on our bodies, so we decided to shoot this last post before the fattening!

IMG_1728

Not much to say about this fashion post, except for the fact that we both managed to dress in the infamous (by now) colours of the year 2016. And yes, I realise now that these pics look a lot like we just came from our marriage-license signing, but I assure you we did that three years ago, though, we look a lot better in these photos.

We met after work to enjoy a little sun and a quiet lunch before going home to start the horrible act of packing for a vacay in spring (no idea how the weather will be like). D, being the wonderful husband that he is, bought me a lovely bouquet of what he thought were pink peonies, but were in fact a type of English Rose that resembles peonies. He wanted peonies as he knows that aside from tulips, peonies are my favourite flowers.

We had lunch at Gourmanderie and we totally recommend this place if you’re in the area as the food is beyond great and so is the staff and the overall atmosphere!

I do love the way these pics turned out so I will stop writing and let you all enjoy them. See you with some live photos from Madrid on our Instagram accounts!

P.S.: As per usual, most of the stuff we are wearing is from past seasons, but I did try and find some alternative buys for you.

Dressing them up…or down!

Remember the pistachio green pants from ZARA? The ones ideally tailored both for the office as well as for the weekend? Naturally, as I told you, I bought them in beige as well. I know, shocker! The other day, the opportunity presented itself, and I wore them both at the office and for a relaxing afternoon with D.

The versatility of these pants is incredible! Since I actually had some work that day at the office, I decided to pair them with my Fifi nude pumps from Christian Louboutin, because hey, a nude pair of pumps always does the trick, and a blouse from (drumroll!) ZARA. Since taking long walks in Bucharest in Loubs is a profanity (for the integrity of the shoes) I also left home with a pair of Converse sneaks and a t-shirt, thinking that I’ll finish all my stuff in time to change before D arrives to save me from work. Of course time decided to fly past me that day and I did’t get a chance to actually change before our casual afternoon so I decided to snap a few pics of my office attire and then, like a 12 yo I changed in D‘s car (luckily all the windows are tinted).

IMG_1212

IMG_1208

Blouse – ZARA; Pants – ZARA; Bag – Moschino; Shoes – Fifi Christian Louboutin; Bracelets – Swarovski, Ring – Swarovski; Sunglasses – Gucci

The bag I wore at work is from Moschino and it’s a go-to bag as it’s neutral both colour-wise as well as shape-wise and works well both for the office and for a semi-casual dinner with friends. I wore the exact same jewellery for both outfits from Swarovski.

Moving along to the casual outfit. I kept the pants, put on my neon velcro Converse that I got from the kids section (I always wanted a pair of velcro sneaks), changed the top and the bag. The t-shirt is from H&M and I bought it three years ago from their Conscious Collection. As it turns out, I have a lot of stuff from their Conscious Collections that I bought throughout the years. I like it a lot as it can easily pass as a blouse if I put a blazer over it and I think that’s thanks to the embroidered hem. The bag I received as a present from close friends and it’s made by Beaucoupzero. This guy is a digital artist that expanded his horizons and now has quite a few items in his collection featuring his art (bags, laptop cases, toys, etc). Most of the wall art in our house is done by him so you can also get his designs on canvas.

IMG_1206

IMG_1196

T-shirt – H&M; Pants – ZARA; Bag – Beaucoupzero; Shoes – Converse; Bracelets – Swarovski; Ring – Swarovski; Sunglasses – Woodworks

I did change my sunglasses for the second outfit, as I always have a pair of spare sunglasses in D‘s car. For work I wore my Gucci shades and in the afternoon I changed them with my WoodWorks pair I got from Innsbruck last year. Overall it took me about two minutes to go from a polished look to a more casual look appropriate for a lazy afternoon.

We stumbled upon a sushi place at some point and we decided to have lunch…late lunch actually and since it was late we only ate a cheese-plate (guess I was in charge of the menu). The place is called AI and it’s very chill and the cheese plate was great.

That kind of afternoon is actually like a unicorn for us as we rarely ever get an afternoon-off. We usually either work or run errands, but I am so glad we managed to squeeze a few relaxing hours into our schedule and that the weather was lovely. We had a great time as usual.

L.

P.S.: Since most of the stuff I’m wearing is older than a season and I couldn’t find the pieces online, I linked some similar stuff.

Let’s be conscious…

IMG_1230

I’m not going to be a hypocrite and tell you about my actions that help save the Earth or what everyone should do in order for the next generations to live a healthy life on this planet, as that is none of my business and this is not a lecture on ecological footprint… This is supposed to be yet another post on fashion. When it comes to fashion, most brands usually have a recycling programme and some of them actually have a ‘conscious collection’ once per year.

H&M is one of those brands and their initiative is both on collecting old clothes in order to recycle them, as well as having a capsule collection that uses recycled materials. While I do appreciate the initiative, D knows all too well that it’s very hard if not impossible for me to part with my clothes. first reason being that THEY’RE MINE, second being that you never really know when something is going to be fashionable again. I’m not talking about the classic staple pieces, I’m talking about weird fashion pieces that have a way of coming back into the spotlight for a short period of time (no sense in actually buying them again, is there?). Because of my unhealthy attachment with my clothes, we ended up transforming one of the bedrooms into a walk-in closet (yup, after a long and tiering battle, I managed to convince him that we definitely need a 16 sqm closet), therefore, we now only have space for one kid in our lives, thus ending the annoying discussions we used to have with our parents about that.

Back on the fashion topic, and more specific on discussing these photos. Since yesterday the temps decided to go up to 31 degrees C, after work, D and I decided to escape into the forest for a bit and take some pics. The clothes you see in this shoot are from H&M‘s Conscious Collection released earlier this month. I’ve always loved high-waisted flare flowy pants and initially I had my mind set on these ones from the Fabulous Muses Capsule Collection by Nissa (dreamy collection!-ordered a few pieces from that one as well) but unfortunately their smallest size is 36 while I am a 34. Still that didn’t deter me, as I decided to go in store and try them, but to my disappointment they were still too large for me… Since I rarely ever find myself walking down the corridors of a shopping centre, I decided to look some more and stumbled upon H&M‘s take on those trousers (wayyyyy cheaper!). I happily realised they were from the Conscious Collection and that they were forest-green (yes, again with the green).

IMG_1242

Of course D mocked me and my sense of style, but he didn’t have in mind the exact combo for these trousers (he later appreciated them very much). I have to understand his mockery though as he is mostly used to seeing me in skinnies, chinos or cigarette style pants, so this was a major change. That didn’t stop him from saying that they look like beach-waiters uniforms, but I bought them anyway. Along with the top you see in the pics, also from the Conscious Collection for a total spend of 35 Euros (total win!). I liked the top as it hits two major fashion obsession (from what I could observe on Instagram): 1) the bare shoulders, which everyone seems to be doing these days and 2) the ruffled edge which seems to be very popular these days thanks to Coachella.

IMG_1241

Top – H&M ; Pants – H&M ; Sandals – Mihaela Glavan (similar ones here) ; Bracelets – Swarovski ; Rings – Swarovski ; Bag – Zara ; Shades – Gucci

As previous stated, I love, love, love the white and green combo so buying these two items seemed like a no-brainer. Throw in the side braids I was sporting in these pics (I passed on the school-girl braids that everyone seems to be so ecstatic about as I am, after all, 30 not 20) and my beloved gladiators (which seem to be getting the hype this year as well) and VOILA! Festival season is all sorted out!

The gladiators I’m wearing are from Mihaela Glavan, from last year’s collection, but you can find similar ones here in the new collection. The craftsmanship of these sandals is amazing as with any other shoes from the brand. also, what’s most important is that they are very comfortable, an attribute which is very hard to find among gladiator sandals.

IMG_1239

The bag is from ZARA and I literally got it a decade ago (before D), but I still use it quite often during festivals. As per usual I am wearing Swarovski bling because I just love them and deem that they are perfect for everyday wear. The sunglasses are from Gucci and they’re that type of model that just doesn’t go out of fashion.

I have to say that D had a wonderful idea with this photoshoot in the forest, as we both had a tone of fun (like we always do) and the temps were way easier to endure – I seriously need to get my inside thermometer to align to the outside temps as this is ridiculous, I can’t get dehydrated at 31 degrees C. What am I going to do during the real hot months??? Die holding the air conditioner in my arms? That’s why, maybe, it wouldn’t be too bad to start thinking about the planet one of these days. H&M has a wonderful collection to raise awareness.

L.

P.S.: Yes, I know I need to dye my hair! Will be on it next Monday testing OLAPLEX and I will keep you updated!
