Moisture maniac…

Remember when I told you about my stupid skin? And the fact that this winter it seemed to me that it was really putting an effort to annoy me? Well, in the battle of me vs my face I’ve found the perfect ally to get me a sure victory! I’m talking about Glam Glow’s Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment. Because when times get desperate, you gotta call in the big boys! I’ve always been keeping steer of intensive hydrating masks as I always used to get pimples from them. But this year, my skin was horribly flaky, as much so that I couldn’t even put on a tinted moisturiser to even out my freckles- yes, most of this winter’s selfies on Instagram are without any sort of foundation or tinted moisturiser.

One night I was desperate so I started looking for a solution in my samples box (yes, I have such a thing) and found three samples of this self-proclaimed miracle worker. I decided to give it a try, thinking what the hell, I can deal with any type of pimples, but I can’t deal with flaky skin anymore. At first, I discovered that you don’t really need to put a lot of product on, therefore, a sample lasted me for about two applications. It says on the package and online that you can sleep with it on, so being desperate, I did that. The next morning, when I woke up, aside from the fact that a little bit of product smeared on my pillow (I tend to sleep on my left side), my skin was definitely in a better condition and there seemed to be no zits in sight. I did this every night for about one week (until I ran out of samples), and I have to tell you, I was truly amazed at how good my skin looked and felt. I’d even go and say that a few of my superficial wrinkles looked better (and by that I mean they were no longer noticeable), however, as it’s not an anti-wrinkle treatment, it had no effect on all the others.

I’m not really into trying to bore you with any info you can find on the official site. Just give this link a click and let’s move along.

After that week of nightly use, as I said there were no flakes and no pimples anywhere on my face and I was extremely happy about that. So I decided I needed to incorporate this mask in my beauty routine asap, therefore I bought it full-sized from SEPHORA (you can also find there a travel-sized version). For the small quantity you get in the full-sized version, I’d say it’s on the pricey side, but since you don’t need to apply a lot of product, it will last you a long time.

On week two, I slept with it on every other night and even though the temp outside was freezing my skin kept its great appearance. Nowadays I use it once per week, and I’ve kinda mastered the art of sleeping on my back when I have it on. This product is a great one to try out, no matter what you skin type is. Apparently when it comes to Glam Glow products you can really trust all the positive reviews you see o line, unlike other products I’ve tried (talking from my own experience).

Ooooooo, I forgot to tell you about the smell (as you can see the texture from the photos)! It smells divine… Coconuts on the beach! It’s a treat especially after a hard day at work.

Come here, Weekend!

Since it’s Friday I feel it’s appropriate to talk about wine. This Davino wine is the one that took me from the dark-ages of drinking sweet wine to making me not able to ever drink bad wine again. D always drinks good wine, so those were exclusively my dark ages and he had nothing to do with it. On the contrary, he always tried to make me drink good wine, but I just wouldn’t have it (I can be very stubborn sometimes). All that until, one night, he took me to a very nice restaurant (I think we were celebrating something, but we never keep track) and of course they didn’t have the shitty wine I used to drink, so D recommend this one. That’s the exact moment when my relationship with wine changed forever. As you already know by now, I always prefer white wine although lately, I kinda surrendered to red a bit. This wine has the most perfect crystal clear white colour with a tint of green, and the smell, oh the smell…it’s fruity, intense and a floral note lingers in the end. The taste didn’t disappoint me either, on the contrary actually. That night was the first time a called a wine ‘crisp’ and made a crazy hand gesture (D told you about that in this post). Now, don’t get this the wrong way, I rarely ever use my hands to get my point across, but this wine is really special.

Davino is located in the best wine region from Romania (in my humble and a bit more educated opinion), near Cluj. According to the wine experts, this wine is made from three different grape types, which gives it this complex aroma. It really blooms when you taste it. I personally prefer the one from 2013, but that one is almost impossible to find these days and judging by the taste, 2014 was a very good year as well. It’s recommended that you drink this wine alongside appetisers or fish, but I personally prefer to have it with cheese. That being my favourite food, you can ignore me as I’ll have cheese with anything.

Overall, this is yet another great wine, that managed to get me out of the dark ages. As a side note, we are very picky with our wine, even though we are not experts, and the wines that you read about here are our favourite wines. Sure there are some wines that don’t match out taste, but this is not the place to write about them because we want to keep a positive note on drinking.

Wine is always a good idea!

To start this category I wanted to introduce a wine that is not the best wine we have ever tasted but it’s one of the most meaningful and close to our hearts. I hope you will like it as much as we do.

It’s produced by Villa Vinea in the valley of Tarnave-Mures, area situated in Transylvania, Romania. This white wine is on the fruity side with a slight vanilla accent, making it a very balanced and full wine. It’s a very CRISP wine as L likes to call every good wine (she also waves her hand in a crazy way whenever she uses that word). The guys from the winery recommend that you drink this wine with various soups, pasta, fish or other types of white meat, but we like to enjoy it like any good wine as a post workout ‘shake’ on our terrace watching the sun go down. And, yes, we are currently denying any allegations saying that we are alcoholics as we are trying to keep it to one bottle per night (hey, it’s not our fault that, even after all these years spent together, we can talk for hours over a good glass of wine).

I hope you’ll enjoy this wine, and if not, I’ll have another one for you next week!
