Into the woods…

It seems that every single time we decide to take photos on this forest road we are wearing some sort of yellow shade (see this post here as well). None the less, it seems more and more like I am slowly but surely turning into the ‘elephant-element’ of these photoshoots. Yes, I am aware by now that I will not be one of those pregnant-model-like types, but rather on the rhino-side of the issue. I will admit that I do have days when I do not feel as good about my pregnant body as I should, but then I think about all the posts about my recovery that will be featured here, on my online diary, and suddenly it doesn’t feel that bad.

As stated in an earlier post, I do not plan on investing in new and expensive clothes during this period therefore I am yet again wearing a full H&M ensemble. I did succumb to my first maternity piece – the jeans. I realised that I needed a pair of pants for those errand-packed days and even though my old jeans fit me (with a bit of struggle) they are very uncomfortable over my growing bump, so a maternity pair was necessary. I decided to chose H&M simply because I loved the fabric – it feels a bit like the Hyperflex jeans from Replay and you know I love them so much! I have to say that 100 new outfit opportunities have risen once I realised that I can wear a pair of pants and not feel like crap during this pregnancy.

On me:

Jeans – H&M; Sweater – H&M; Shoes – Puma; Bag – Michael Kors; Bling – Swarovski (bracelet and ring); Watch – Tissot T-Race

For yesterday’s errands I decided to pair the jeans with yet another H&M piece that D selected especially for me – this sweater – but I strongly suspect that he got it because it matches his shirt perfectly and he really wanted to snap some photos of it. The reality is that I love it (as I love all the stuff D choses for me) and I think that the shade of mustard-yellow is just to die for. Somehow I think this is one shade that goes well no matter what season it is. I wore my very comfortable and fun Puma sneakers and decided on completing the outfit with my navy Michael Kors bag. What was rather unusual about yesterday was the fact that we did not wear matching watches as I decided to wear my Tissot T-Race simply because I love the way it compliments my Jawbone and Swarovski bracelets.

On D:

Jeans – G-Star Raw; T-shirt – Scotch and Soda; Shoes – Converse x John Varvatos; Bling – Fossil; Watch – Aviator

D was extremely happy when he saw the colour scheme I chose because, as I told you a bit earlier, he really wanted to wear this gorgeous t-shirt form Scoth and Soda that he got a week or so ago. I also got pretty excited when he decided on wearing his G-Star Raw pants because I think that this pair is among my top three favourites form his closet and they match my (only) jeans perfectly. For comfort reasons he wore his Converse x John Varvatos sneakers and decided to keep his accessorising to a minimum with his Fossil bracelet. He also made the decision to not match my watch choices and went for his Aviator watch that he hasn’t worn in a while now.

Despite my growing baby bump and my obvious body issues, I am determined to keep on taking photos and be honest with you about everything as I find it liberating to talk (write) a bit about the down-days. I strongly believe everybody has them, but I am very thankful that mine are very rare and the nasty feelings just pass quickly. In the end, all that maters is that the lovely baby is growing healthily, I feel physically great and D supports me every single minute. So not much to complain!

Dressing them up…or down!

Remember the pistachio green pants from ZARA? The ones ideally tailored both for the office as well as for the weekend? Naturally, as I told you, I bought them in beige as well. I know, shocker! The other day, the opportunity presented itself, and I wore them both at the office and for a relaxing afternoon with D.

The versatility of these pants is incredible! Since I actually had some work that day at the office, I decided to pair them with my Fifi nude pumps from Christian Louboutin, because hey, a nude pair of pumps always does the trick, and a blouse from (drumroll!) ZARA. Since taking long walks in Bucharest in Loubs is a profanity (for the integrity of the shoes) I also left home with a pair of Converse sneaks and a t-shirt, thinking that I’ll finish all my stuff in time to change before D arrives to save me from work. Of course time decided to fly past me that day and I did’t get a chance to actually change before our casual afternoon so I decided to snap a few pics of my office attire and then, like a 12 yo I changed in D‘s car (luckily all the windows are tinted).

Blouse – ZARA; Pants – ZARA; Bag – Moschino; Shoes – Fifi Christian Louboutin; Bracelets – Swarovski, Ring – Swarovski; Sunglasses – Gucci

The bag I wore at work is from Moschino and it’s a go-to bag as it’s neutral both colour-wise as well as shape-wise and works well both for the office and for a semi-casual dinner with friends. I wore the exact same jewellery for both outfits from Swarovski.

Moving along to the casual outfit. I kept the pants, put on my neon velcro Converse that I got from the kids section (I always wanted a pair of velcro sneaks), changed the top and the bag. The t-shirt is from H&M and I bought it three years ago from their Conscious Collection. As it turns out, I have a lot of stuff from their Conscious Collections that I bought throughout the years. I like it a lot as it can easily pass as a blouse if I put a blazer over it and I think that’s thanks to the embroidered hem. The bag I received as a present from close friends and it’s made by Beaucoupzero. This guy is a digital artist that expanded his horizons and now has quite a few items in his collection featuring his art (bags, laptop cases, toys, etc). Most of the wall art in our house is done by him so you can also get his designs on canvas.

T-shirt – H&M; Pants – ZARA; Bag – Beaucoupzero; Shoes – Converse; Bracelets – Swarovski; Ring – Swarovski; Sunglasses – Woodworks

I did change my sunglasses for the second outfit, as I always have a pair of spare sunglasses in D‘s car. For work I wore my Gucci shades and in the afternoon I changed them with my WoodWorks pair I got from Innsbruck last year. Overall it took me about two minutes to go from a polished look to a more casual look appropriate for a lazy afternoon.

We stumbled upon a sushi place at some point and we decided to have lunch…late lunch actually and since it was late we only ate a cheese-plate (guess I was in charge of the menu). The place is called AI and it’s very chill and the cheese plate was great.

That kind of afternoon is actually like a unicorn for us as we rarely ever get an afternoon-off. We usually either work or run errands, but I am so glad we managed to squeeze a few relaxing hours into our schedule and that the weather was lovely. We had a great time as usual.

P.S.: Since most of the stuff I’m wearing is older than a season and I couldn’t find the pieces online, I linked some similar stuff.

Bipolar March

Yes, it’s the 22nd of March, and yes, the weather should be warmer by now, or sunny at least, but it seems that autumnish weather is all we get for now. I would’ve liked this first fashion post attempt to be more on the stiletto-pastel side, but looking out the window, I realize that pictures of stilettos and silk tops would’ve looked stupid.

I did however use a bit of pastel pink, because as we all know it, well not all of us-I’ve only recently found out, Pantone 13-1520 a.k.a. Rose Quartz is one of the two colors of the year 2016 (the other one is Serenity-pastel blue, if you ask me). One has to align to the current fashion trends in order for online popularity to be achieved, right? But what should i do when the weather is down-right shitty and all i can think of is wearing black but the calendar insists it’s March (past mid-March actually)? I decided on pairing textures and colors, and by textures i mean warm and snugly Rose Quartz (!!!) knit with cognac leather(not as popular a color as the above mentioned) and the all-neutral jeans.

I wore this outfit during our Reset Weekend (see previous post) because the weather was quite cold (kinda like today in Bucharest) and i needed to not look ridiculously undressed. I’ve got to say that, just like March is right now, I’m quite bipolar as well when it comes to fashion and I’ve never actually taken it seriously. By fashion bipolar-ism i mean that i can either go for Uggs (i think i have a pair in every color and model) or for my much-adored stilettos (Loubs mainly, but more on that in a later post), basically I’m either formal or casual (very!), there is no in between.
Since we were on vacation in a nature inclined environment, stilettos were out of the question, so…here come Uggs!
The Uggs you spot in the pics are my current obsession this year, yes i know that they are from ages ago, but even though I’ve had them for two years (i think!) and wore them only a few times, this year I’ve over-abused them. Every year a different pair gets to be the ‘obsession’.

DSC_3851a
I almost always wear a leather jacket with basically any outfit as i think that this classic staple tends to pull-together any outfit. This jacket here is from Mango, but it’s beautifully crafted and you get a great value for the price you pay. As for the rest, the jeans are Replay, the ones with Hyperflex technology, which sounds sci-fi, but it actually means that these jeans are extremely comfortable and hug your curves the right way…meaning that for girls like me, with a small waist and a big butt, once you try these jeans on you’ll want to wear them all the time (no waist gap at the back!!). The bag is Michael Kors and I chose it as in my ‘expert’-opinion goes well with the Uggs and the leather jacket and most importantly everything i need on a daily basis (iPad, wallet, about 30 lipsticks and a million other small and useless things) fits perfectly well in it. The cozy, warm knit vest is from Bershka and even though I’ve bought it two years ago, this is the first time I’ve actually wore it.There are no fancy clothes in this post, just casual, non-expensive basics perfect for this crazy-weather.
Well, all that said, i wrote my first fashion post…sort of, at least. I’m not really all that into the fashion thing, but rather more into gathering the right statement pieces that will stand the test of time and that can make me skip a heartbeat, you can’t really detect that in this first post, but you’ll find out soon enough in the next couple of fashion-posts.
One last thing, the reason i look so serious in all, the photos is because I’ve done my research on fashion photography and realized that all the ladies in the pics look so serious, so I thought i’d align to the trend. This was extremely hard for me to do, but apparently fashion requires sacrifice!
