Daytime Festival Feeling…Part II

This was the second time we roamed the streets of Cluj to have a full photoshoot because, as stated in an earlier post, because of security reasons, we weren’t allowed with our camera at the festival thus having to take our fashion shoots on the streets. That was not necessarily a bad thing as this city has a lot of amazing places to offer, like this wall over here. The downside to wanting to actually go to the festival and being pregnant resulted in the fact that most days I was too tired to take photos – we just went out to eat and because we did the eating part sitting down, most of the posts will be of food.

For this photoshoot we both opted for a casual beige/greige/kaki combo as this fitted our mood and energy levels best on the third day of the festival – tired af! Yes, these photos were taken on the third day because on the second day, all I wanted to do was eat and sleep and get ready for the night as that second night was the fullest for us of them all. We both knew the old centre of Cluj very well, but actually walking there and searching for places to take photos really opened our eyes to details that we have not noticed until now – like the said wall. This blogging activity really has a lot of perks!

On me:

Dress – Dubai; Sandals – Bata; Bag – Mango; Bling – Tomorrowland (ring and bracelet), Pandora and Swarovski; Sunglasses – Dior; Watch – Tissot

Back to the outfits… I really hate having anything against my belly these days so mostly I am sporting dresses hoping that the weather will stay on the hot side as much time as possible. This dress is from Dubai from one of their markets and is really one of the most comfortable dresses I own, not to mention the fact that it really is the perfect shape and length for this period where my legs haven’t gotten fat enough to make me want to cover them, but my belly grew enough to need loose things to cover it. I paired the dress with my yellow fringed platform sandals from Bata and this is yet another item aside from the dress that will not benefit from a link in today’s post simply because I couldn’t find anything similar online. The bag – that I will link – is from Mango and I chose it because it matched both the colour theme and the fringe detail found on the sandals. Bling wise I kept is neutral with rings from Tomorrowland, Pandora and Swarovski, while not forgetting my Dior sunglasses on this sunny day.

On D:

Shorts – Scotch and Soda; T-shirt – Mango; Shoes – Paez; Bag – New Yorker; Bling – Constantin Nautics; Sunglasses – Ray-Ban; Watch – Tissot

D also wore colours similar to the ones I chose – naturally! – which made me a very happy girl. He opted for his camo shorts from Schotch and Soda and paired them with a plain beige t-shirt from Mango. Yes, he did not wear any fringe detail but I promise that at some point I will make him wear something very fringe-y! To finish his look he chose his new Paez espadrilles – we both bought a few pairs from the fashion corner at the festival – that perfectly complimented his outfit. The bag that matched the turquoise wall so perfectly is from New Yorker and he bought it ages ago and is just perfect for carrying all the camera necessities while we are on vacation.

He managed to wear a pair of sunglasses – Ray-Ban –  even though he usually doesn’t bother while we are taking photos as they tend to get in the way of him taking pics. He also kept it simple where accessories are concerned only wearing his Constantin Nautics bracelet aside from the Untold bracelets. We both wore our Tissot watches that as stated earlier got changed in the evening for the more festival appropriate G-Shock watches.

French Brownie…

Turning a bit brown and energetic for today’s post! Both of us wanted to see the Defense area again, because we both remembered it as being this sci-fi new area that was immaculate and new. Now, I don’t really know why, but as I’ve mentioned in our first Paris post, this city seems to get dirtier every year. This area makes no exception. It was a far cry from what we remembered it to be. The entire area was quite dirty, but I have to admit that it still is beautiful and imposing so we really wanted to have a photoshoot there. And we actually couldn’t find a better spot that this rusty-coloured urban sculpture. It matched our clothes perfectly.

I actually have no idea why I went for a beige-brown combo for Paris. I mean, when choosing colours, I knew exactly why I was channeling my inner hippie in Milan, but for some reason, I have no idea why I opted for this brown dress. I do love it, make no mistake, just like I love any wrap-dress – I think they are the best! This one I got from Debenhams ages ago, so naturally, there is no way it’s still available online, but I will do my best to find an alternative. The great thing about a well tailored wrap dress is the fact that it tends to be quite forgiving if, by some error you put on a few kgs, as a matter of fact, They tend to look better on curvier figures. For more on that just search Taylor Swift in a wrap dress and compare her with Eva Mendes in one and you’ll immediately get what I mean.

On me:

Dress – Debenhams; Shoes – Bata; Bag – DKNY; Bling – Pandora (bracelets and ring) and Tomorrowland; Shades – Dior; Watch – Longines

Back to the outfit and away from the catty comments. I paired the brown dress with the newly acquired brown platform sandals from Bata that are no where to be found online – I don’t know what’s going on with these store exclusives… I paired everything with my greige – I love that colour – DKNY bucket bag and my Dior shades and I was ready to take on dirty Paris in a rusty manner. As for the bling, you’ve probably noticed that while I am away, I tend to wear the same stuff everyday, but that’s only because I love all my jewellery and I tend to wear them everyday for days without changing anything. Hence, I wore my Pandora bracelets and ring and my Tomorrowland ring.

On D:

Shorts – H&M; T-shirt – Mango; Shoes – Tommy Hilfiger; Bag – Barcelona; Bling – Fossil and Constantin Nautics; Shades – Ray-Ban; Watch – Logines

D also played nice and went for a beige/greige colour theme. He chose his beige H&M shorts and decided to combine them with his grey palm printed t-shirt from Mango. I just loved the way he mixed beige with grey, but he did take his brown bag from Barcelona that matched my dress perfectly. I can say that my bag matched his outfit, while his bag matched mine. He finished his outfit with his Tommy Hilfiger boat shoes that he seems to take with him everywhere, but I suppose that’s what happens when you have a pair of very comfortable shoes that also look nice. As usual for this short trip, we both wore our Longines watches and D wore his Fossil and Constantin Nautics bracelets.

I know that it seems like these Paris posts are going way slower than usual, but the truth is it’s summer, and during summer everyone seems to have a lot of stuff going on and we make no exception. I promise there will be no more breaks in this set of posts.

Until next time…

This is the last fashion moment we had in Milan, but fear not, this is not the last post from this wonderful city as we still have a lot to tell you about the hotel we stayed at. On this last day, D decided to surprise me with these lovely and much coveted pair of Dior ‘So Real’ sunglasses that I’ve wanted to get for almost a year now. True, I have been splurging on shoes in this last year, and one might argue that if I wanted them so much I should’ve just bought them, but where shoes are concerned, I really wanted/needed a few more pairs to have all the must-haves for any real shoe lover – will do a post on that as my collection is complete…for now. Another reason why I didn’t splurge on these gorgeous sunglasses is the fact that until this years’ collection, none of the colour combos really satisfied my taste fully and I wasn’t keen on paying 150 Euros just to get them customised.

Since the designated shopping day had passed and I already had my splurge (Valentino Starstuds) for this vacation, I was sure that these beauties would have to wait a while longer until I got them into my possession. But no! My amazing husband decided to surprise me with them! And what woman doesn’t love these kind of surprises? Especially when they come from their loved one? I was so in love with my new gift that I was determined to wear them despite any weather that might come my way that day! I simply did not want to get them off! Luckily for me, the weather was lovely, as it was throughout our entire stay in Milan and we could visit their biggest park – Sempione Park and snap some photos over there.

On me:

Dress – MANGO; Shoes – Bata; Bag – Obag; Shades – Dior; Bling – Tomorrowland, Pandora, Swarovski and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Daniel Wellington

We did move away from the whole hippie theme on that day, but both of us wore clothes entirely from Mango. Told you the last time that we are having a Mango moment. This time we went darker than all the other days spent here. I opted for an off-the-shoulder flowy dress, in a rich and dark shade of blue that looks black in all of the pics and decided to combine it with wedge brown sandals from Bata that are nowhere to be fond online, so I guess this will be the first time that I won’t actually link something I wore with anything because I haven’t been able to find a worthy alternative either. My bag is newly bought from OBag and is totally customisable, and as for the accessories, you know them too well by now: Tomorrowland, Pandora and Swarovski rings, combined with a Constantin Nautics bracelet. Obviously, the sunglasses are from Dior and I never want to take them off.

On D:

Shorts – MANGO; T-shirt – MANGO; Shoes – H&M; Bling – Fossil and Constantin Nautics; Watch – Daniel Wellington

D also went for a darker ensemble that he entirely bought during this vacation from Mango. He paired a pineapple print t-shirt with light blue shorts and striped ancient H&M espadrilles. Being the lovely husband that he is, he matched the nato strap I chose for my Daniel Wellington perfectly. Aside from that, he wore his Fossil and Constantin Nautics bracelets. Our darker choice of items totally mirrored our mood that always seems to get darker at the end of any wonderful vacation we have together. We are however very anxious to get back to our lovely little dog back home as she always brightens up our mood after any trip.

As promised, we still have to tell you about the lovely hotel we stayed in and its lovely gourmet 10th floor terrace. More on that in tomorrow’s last post from Milan.
