Right before the storm!

I mean right before the storm! The storm last night…literally, the last photo we took coincided with the first drop of rain, that was not actually a drop but rather a puddle of water on our heads. Hence the lack of gifs in this post. Maybe we’ll get luckier today, as I plan to get back on track with the photos mainly because it has dawned on me that I need as many photos of this period because quite honestly, this is the best time I’ve had so far in my life. I mean, despite the adding kilos and the occasional discomforts (more on that in a later post), this has got to be the best I have ever felt about myself and the happiest I have ever been in my life mainly because I have the greatest human being beside me that makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.IMG_5305

On top of all that sentimentalism, right now we are in full remodelling mode, not completely remodelling our apartment, rather on the redecorating side, but none-the-less, this is something that I love. I loved it when we did our seaside apartment (maybe we’ll do a post on that) and right now it feels even better as we are preparing for the little human being that will be joining us for a big chunk of our lives. That’s not to say that: a) the house is going to be either pink or blue, or b) every corner will be baby-proofed. Not by far, most of the redecorating will be about us trying to give our apartment a new feel, one that marks the next episode of our lives, by only tweaking a few things here and there.

On me:

Dress – Mango; Shoes – DOGO; Clutch – DOGO; Bling – Pandora and Tomorrowland; Watch – Daniel Wellington

Back to yesterday’s photoshoot. I just love the way pics look with a very cloudy sky and I really did not want to miss yesterday’s pre-storm clouds. Do not get me wrong, I just hate cloudy days, those grey cloudy autumn days are just the worst, but the clouds right before a summer storm are amazing. We decided to test our luck and we managed to do a full shoot before the storm started. We even had some strong wind which made it a bit difficult, but the result is lovely. Besides all the turquoise accents, or rather, theme, I really want to point your attention to my DOGO fun shoes and clutch. Did I mention that we are redecorating? Actually we started and managed to finish the dressing room… I know, priorities… But in the process I rediscovered a lot of long-lost but very loved items, true, many of them got binned, but not these two pieces from DOGO that I got a few years ago, but then totally forgot about them. You can find lots of similar fun items online. The dress is from Mango, this is not from the bundle of long-lost items, I got it this year for 7 E and naturally, you can not find the exact colour online anymore but I’ve linked an alternative. I barely worn any accessories because we were in a big hurry to manage to snap some photos before all hell broke loose, so I only wore my Tomorrowland and Pandora rings.

On D:

Shorts – H&M; T-shirt – Mango; Shoes – Paez; Bling – Fossil; Watch – Daniel Wellington

D was nice as always and followed my lead when it came to choosing the colour theme. He decided on his shorts from H&M (did you miss them????) and paired them with his beige t-shirt from Mango. He was most excited about yesterday’s outfit because he got to wear his second pair of Paez shoes and apparently the shoe-craze is starting to rub off on him as well, so our kid has to be a shoe lover. For sure!!!! Because we were in a hurry, he ended up wearing his Fossil bracelet and in some of the photos he ended up accessorising with my clutch as well. We both decided to wear our Daniel Wellington watches, but unfortunately, we totally forgot about changing the nato straps to match our outfits.

I seriously do hope that we will be able to have a full photoshoot today as well, but looking out the window, that might not be possible as the sky is steel grey since this morning and a few afternoon showers are announced. We’ll see… And you will see tomorrow if we managed to snap some shots or not!

POLO

So here we were, on the first night in Cluj, at around 8 o’clock in the evening (told you it take about a day to travel across country), both of us starving and me craving eggs. The problem about craving eggs in the evening is that most restaurants do not serve breakfast past 12 o’clock. This is how we ended up having dinner/breakfast – in my case, at POLO. True, the fact that it was near our hotel was a big plus, because even though we spent most of the day sitting down, I did not have the energy to actually travel a lot for food. To be honest, the moment I lay down on the bed I seriously considered going to bed on an empty stomach.

Back to this wonderful place that was able to provide a frittata at 8 in the evening. The first thing I loved about it, and, to be honest, about most of the restaurants in Cluj, was the way it was decorated. This one is a Polo themed restaurant and it followed that theme to the letter. Needless to say that is something I love about any place. We were lucky enough that everyone was having their dinner on the terrace so we were able to take as many photos of the interior as we wished without annoying anyone.

On to the food… I ordered a frittata and D ordered the beef steak with home-made potato chips and pepper sauce. My frittata was just perfect having everything I love in it: goat cheese, onion, bell peppers and tomatoes. It was cooked just right, as most cooks tend to make it too dry for my taste, and, just like any frittata, it came in a hot pan which means that I literally burned my taste buds because I couldn’t wait to eat. D‘s steak was good and the combo of potatoes and pepper sauce meant that the plate was left without a gram of food in it. Both our plates were left as if someone had cleaned them in the dishwasher. That’s how hungry we were from the road.We couldn’t leave without tasting the desserts, and as we couldn’t decide, we ordered all three types of dessert. They were amazing, and I have no idea which one was best, so if you do decide to give this place a try, make sure you go with at least two other people so that each can get a different desert.

We loved the fact that the staff was very friendly and they actually aided us in our photoshoot of the place. The check was about 30 E, tip included, which is normal for great restaurants in Cluj, but quite low for an equivalent restaurant in Bucharest or at the seaside. Surely, have there not been so many amazing places to eat in Cluj, we would have definitely come back during our short stay there, but we will surely come back here next year.

#UNTOLD online recap…

We’re back from our favourite festival of the summer, Untold, and we are so glad that we got to be a part of it this year as well. First of all, I was a bit scared of the possibility of going to a festival while four months pregnant (almost five), but in the end I decided that whenever I felt like I needed to rest we would just go. Fortunately, our little bundle of joy seemed to be in sync with our musical preferences and behaved wonderfully. Obviously, my schedule was something like : EAT, SLEEP, EAT (again), SLEEP (again), DANCE, REPEAT. All in all we didn’t miss one main event and all I can say right now is that this festival managed to surprise us in a very pleasant way yet again (I mean the way it is organised) – but more on that in the longer ┬ápost that will soon be up! These are photos and videos that we posted while there on our Facebook page and our Instagram accounts (L and D).

BEFORE – The road to UNTOLD

IMG_4300

Yes, we left a day earlier just incase I wasn’t feeling way because even though there are only 320 km from Bucharest to Cluj-Napoca, it does take almost an entire day to get there (yup, no highways!).

DAY 1

IMG_4294

This was actually the first day of the festival with more details and photos soon to come! Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike smashed the house just like last year!

DAY 2

This was the day I was most excited about as this was the first evening a main event was someone I haven’t seen yet. Needless to say that HARDWELL killed it!

DAY 3

IMG_4281

This was the day of the King – ARMIN VAN BUUREN! No more words needed!

DAY 4

Done a bit of shopping during the day from the amazing Fashion corner and then we got ready (read: ate and slept) for the closing night of this amazing festival! This was also the night when I decided that AFROJACK was my favourite of the four days! Martin Garrix did not disappoint either.

This was all our online activity during the festival – yes, I know, not much, but I did sleep most of the time there as the little one seemed to be needing a lot of sleep. More photos and details soon!
